How was it not detected through the checking-in and not until he came back to pick up his luggage? If the case is truly so, China needs to step up their airport security checks.

Exactly - IF he travelled from Nigeria. Nothing in the story states where the man was coming from, except that we know he is a Nigerian citizen.

I doubt if they would openly let 3 suitcases of Igbo pass by. Customs officials regularly open ALL suitcases at the airport before departure. I suspect that maybe one of the cabin crew or some shady officials were bribed to allow the suitcases on without screening.

I already explained what happend. in my erlier post.  But your free to make up your own assumptions. Anybody can get anything through the airport, post 911. Money is a very persuasive tender.

That is very possible. I suspect there is more to this story than what has been stated already. I am still questioning why is identity - name was not revealed.

I am so sure what possibly could have led to his arrest easily was the excess weight of those marijuana. If it had been within the specified kilos of luggage required by the Chinese airport authority, I am sure, the guy would be smiling to the banks right now.

Also, $4,000 or even $2,000 no b small money o. Looking at the guy and from what hilli said, these barons look for very vulnerable people. You sound as though u've neither traveled out nor read the story. Once the luggage is checked in in Nigeria, he'll only collect it when hulled out at the destination. According to the story, he abandoned the luggage and returned the next day to pick, that was when he was nabbed.

Wow so these are my options. I am either or drug dealer, or a movie fanatic with quite an imagination. What about the part where I work for the Judicial Branch in the state supreme court USA. Or the fact the fact that criminal psychology, organised crime, white collar crime, business ethics, ethics in leadership  were courses that I taught  in college Where cases like these were studied as a "case study".
