thesoj: You're very correct @thesoj, even in one of my recent posts I made mention of the fact that I'm personally not a fan of making asset declaration. Never done it personally, I didn't even submit my own soa or any land or vehicle document, yet I got my trv. But I saw a guy's GCMS with similar refusal reasons as that of this bro, and the VO faulted his application for not showing proof that he has indeed been working. But just like you said, the main reason is that "purpose of visit". 2 Likes |

Mr berexio, thanks for yor nice observation. The VO wants me to have some savings and is concentrating on my employment because he thinks I've been home for 7years. I didn't submit my degree certificate only transcript and a letter from my faculty stating when I completed my degree.(i guess that played a role) I only submitted my ssce certificate of 2008 In summary, I am quite sure these VOS don't read th extra extra letters and SOP we tend to write (atleast not in rush period) Another thin is that, the most important part of an application is the IMM1294 form....whatever u write there is what the VO makes a decision from. berexio1: 1 Like |

hayqinsbFX: Bro how come this VO thought you completed Undergrad 7 years ago (2008)? Pls can you go through your app again to be sure the prob wasn't from you? Secondly did you submit a copy of your transcript? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by ayooluwatoni(m): 7:26pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
lexyj123:It is not about finance. It is about Purpose of Visit. Some way, some how, the VO thought he completed undergrad in 2008, and of which I started undergrad in 2008 and graduated just last year. That issue of asset and finance always or mostly come with purpose of visit, and then they use Travel History to garnish it (For those with virgin passports). So me think we should find out why the VO felt Akin graduated 7 years ago. And there are two possible reasons, probably Akin made a mistake while filling his visa forms or the VO just finished consuming some wraps of wet weed, and then he/she wasn't seeing clearly! 3 Likes |

hayqinsbFX:You are very correct with ur points.. That form IMM1294 most times is what they concentrate on, they just seive thru the rest of the documents and assume quite a lot..We see a lot of these mistakes in other gcms. 1 Like |

i didnt submit my degree certificate as it wasnt ready. i included my transcripts which stated when i graduated and also a letter from my faculty stating when i completed my degree..... the VO just sieved through the application and as a result of the workload he just assumed. realistically how can a 23year old guy finish bachelors 7years ago......soundns ridiculous to me... right now i will include my certificate, NYSC as present activity...... ayooluwatoni: |

i know of a friend that got his TRV going for an advanced diploma(fasttrack) but on his 1294 he wrote certificate as the level of study compared to diploma which i wrote. Do u guys think that played a role too as the certificate would have attracted the VO to the app while the diploma would have put the VO off from the scratch. |

Bro. I wanna know if the driving license in question is for both Auto and Manual transmission or any. For some of us that can drive only Auto, any advise about getting a full driver license in Nigeria here. Pls advise. it may be allowed to drive or to get a car with a 9ja license+offshore later, they are certain benefits you get in possessing your province drivers licence. benefits like, using it as a means of ID as opposed to carrying your Passport+visa about, getting some jobs, and also getting a cheaper premium on your car insurance. Cheers guys!![/quote] |

Nah bro. Certificate or diploma na same thing. college diploma=college certificate, just as PGD=PGC. I don't see how the term "certificate" vs "diploma" would make a difference to the VO. hayqinsbFX: |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 8:59pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
@hayqinsbFX, did you include a "Document List" page with your application? I suspect that VOs sometimes miss documents that they don't know are included in the application. A "Document List" preempts this problem. I'm suspecting that the VO may have skipped some documents in your application, though it's unclear why. 1 Like |

hayqinsbFX: I think it will be good you add an Appeal Letter too, while you attach the gcms to it.......telling the VO of your disappointment, but in a constructive and respectful manner! 2 Likes |

chigoziri7: Thanks Chigoziri. My girl will also be turning 2 next year. When you're ready to apply, while filling the initial questionnaire, you'll need to state that your child will accompany you, that you will pay for her application charges, that you'll fill her forms on her behalf and the application will generate all the forms you both need for the app. Your child's status will be as a visitor. The first thing to do once you decide which province you'll be schooling at is to register your baby on the central wait list for licensed child care (that's if you'll be needing a day care). The queue is usually very long and sometimes it takes up to a year before it gets to your turn. I didn't do that and now I'll have to make do with alternate means. 1 Like |

Hmm... on the 1294E form, there isn't an option for Graduate Certificate under "College". Under "College", the only options are "Certificate" and "Diploma" or "Applied Degree". See image below. hayqinsbFX:

I am not sure if I have someone with similar case in the house but I'll still like to ask the family. Ive been to Canada as a visitor and now looking forward to apply for a study permit in the same country. What are my chances of getting an approval? I still have a valid ca visitor visa though. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by busayo21: 1:40am On Oct 17, 2015 |
I don't think that is a problem. Check this out... Working or studying in Canada Most visitors to Canada cannot work or study in Canada without a permit. If you are visiting Canada and you want to work or study, you have a few options if you still have legal status in Canada. For a new work permit, you can apply: •from your home country or another country where you are lawfully admitted. Follow the instructions on how to apply for a work permit, or •in person or by mail at the Visa Application centre in New York. For a new study permit, you can apply: •from your home country or another country where you are lawfully admitted. Follow the instructions on how to apply for a study permit, or •in person or by mail at the Visa Application Centre in Los Angeles. Just submit your study permit application with required documents, and you are back in Canada again...#smiles. All the best. candleimole: |
