Govt Of Denial, Presidency Denies Buhari’s 100 Days Campaign Promises To Nigeria by Nobody: 11:24pm On Aug 29, 2015 |
As Nigerians approach President Muhammadu Buhari’s first hundred days in office, the Nigeria’s Presidency is bent at denying all the campaign promises made by the President prior to his assumption of office . For those who might have forgotten, here’s the first section of the promises by the President below and the link provided provides the complete campaign promises by the APC led government of Buhari. First Set Of What President Buhari Promised To Achieve Within In First Hundred Days In Office Publicly declare my assets and liabilities and encourage my political appointees to also publicly declare their assets and liabilities. Affirm that our strategy for tackling corruption will not only focus on punishment. Rather, it will also provide incentives for disclosure and transparency. Show personal leadership in the war against corruption and also hold all the people who work with me to account. Inaugurate the National Council on Procurement as stipulated in the Procurement Act so that the Federal Executive Council, which has been turned to a weekly session of contract bazaar, will concentrate on its principal function of policy making. Review and implement audit recommendations by Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). Work with the National Assembly towards the immediate enactment of a Whistle Blower Act. Work with the National Assembly to strengthen ICPC and EFCC by guaranteeing institutional autonomy including financial and prosecutorial independence and security of tenure of officials. Make the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) an autonomous and operational agency. Encourage proactive disclosure of information by government institutions in the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act. Ensure all MDAs regularly comply with their accountability responsibilities to Nigerians through the National Assembly. Work with the leadership of the National Assembly to cut down the cost of governance. Present a national anti-corruption Strategy. In an elaborate article written by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, he said the President never promised to achieve the 100 things he intends to do in 100 days, tagged ‘My Covenant With Nigerians’. This is not the first time the Presidency will be denying promises made by President Buhari, Femi Adesina, also a spokesman of the President had in an exclusive interview with Kayode Ogundamisi denied Buhari ever promised to declare his assets. Adesina said Buhari never promised to declare his assets , adding that it was actually the party that made such a promise which brings to question the sincerity of the Buhari led administration. Garba Shehu wrote, “There is a certain document tagged “One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days” and the other, “My Covenant With Nigerians.” Both pamphlets bore the authorized party logo but as the Director of Media and Communications in that campaign, I did not fund or authorize any of those. I can equally bet my last Kobo that Candidate Buhari did not see or authorize those publications. In acknowledging Buhari’s inability to keep to the elaborate campaign promises, Shehu noted that there are many out there who say that the performance of a president and his government in terms success or failure cannot be judged in 100 days and I agree with them. He continued “In the course of electioneering, the presidential campaign had so many centers of public communication which, for whatever reason were on the loose. “As a consequence of these publications, expectations have been raised unreasonably, that as President, Muhammadu Buhari will wave his hand and all the problems that the country faces- insecurity, corruption, unemployment, poor infrastructure would go away. The Presidential spokesman, Mr Shehu said President Buhari has shown that his government is different. “He wants to look at each case on its own merit and it is clear by now that he is not ready to surrender the country to burnt out politicians. “ http://newswirengr.com/2015/08/29/a-govt-of-denial-again-presidency-denies-buharis-100-days-campaign-promises-to-nigerians/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

We all saw it coming, only gullible Nigerians believed everything APC and Buhari thrown at them, how ?, at the heat of controversy over Buhari's Cert., a fake WASc emerged from his former school, Buhari diplomatically remind silent, he neither accept it nor denied it; a sweet soup is known by it first aroma. Even the much talked anti corruption of Buhari, nothing would be achieved cos as it now, the country is more fragile now base on his lopsided appointment, more enemies has been created, distrust among his APC members ,even lar mohammed, Tinubu and Akande... are now wailers, with this, Buhari have more to contend with couple with the confusion he has been swimming with, so expect nothing from the long list of promises he used to scammed us. |

I thank God that I wasn't scammed, just suffering for the mistake of others. Unfortunately, the less than four years left will all be spent in denial. |
