Chocolate City CEO, MI Abaga has fired back at Cassper Nyovest over his Claims about the Mediocrity of Nigerian Hip Hop Genre.
It Should be recalled that the South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest had made some huge claims last month, rating South African’s Hip-hop artistes over their Nigerian counterparts.
According to him, SA’s Hip Hop is still bigger and Better.
In a Controlled outburst when quizzed by ExpressNG on the matter, MI fired back, “Nigerian Hip-Hop Artists are the best in this case cause we can see a lot of elite rappers in Nigeria”
He also pointed out that some of the continent’s best rappers are from Nigeria; People like Eedris, Rugged man, Vector, Ice Prince, Olamide, Nigga Raw, and Phyno.

Well, maybe it all boils down to a matter of taste. I don't know much about the Nigerian hip hop industry, but in SA we have people like Reason, Proverb, Maggz etc & imo they're better than the likes of the more popular SA hip hop artistes, like Casper, AKA & Da Les. I also don't know where Casper drew his conclusion from, maybe from the guys I mentioned compared to other artistes (since they're all in the same industry & probably listen to each other's music), but nonetheless, everyone is gonna rep/rate their country 1st above all else.

Btw, check out these on YouTube to get the SA hip hop flavour. Few of SA's heavy weights in hip hop. Lyrically unmatched imo
