Good morning guys. Avoid parking and sleeping at the front of presken hotel, majekodunmi Street, Ikeja. We were unfortunately raided by AREA F POLICEMEN in the middle night of Thursday 12th 2021 at about 1.AM
About 14 pilots were arrested and vehicle tolled. Our vehicles were impounded, thrown into CELL and of course, Extorted. I paid 15k to bail myself and car out around 8pm, some paid 20k and i heard some group paid 10k. It depends on your bargaining power.

The excuse was that the residents came to report to them that we sleeps, messes up the place and causes nuisance.

Ok, this will bring me to share my experience with the same area F police command.

On that fateful friday night after dropping of my rider off Kudirat Abiola Rd at about 11:28pm I knew time was running fast so i needed get home due to the curfew which starts at 12mindnight. Got to mobile filling station, Awolowo way about 3min afterwards then pulled over to do No.1... After that I hooped into my car and drove off...

Got to that club near firstbank along the Awolowo way then decided to wait a minute checking something on my phone while hoping to get a set destinatiin trip. This was exactly 11:45pm. On raising my head I saw about 3 police vans parked across the road and the men jumping down crossing over towards the other side of the road where I was parked... The corolla behind me moved with speed, I wanted to zoom off with him as my engine was still running with gear engaged but base on the knowledge of the time and happening I summoned confident and decided to stay but moving slowly...

Stop!! stop!! stop!!! With all form of aggression 3 of them entered into my car like say na only me them come for...move it!

So that is what the Area F police does especially on Fridays, for any reason you find yourself chopping live btw 12mindnight to 4am or working just be on the watchout. Uber drivers and anyone parked outside a club house are their main target. But their liver no dey carry them reach African Shrine side at all.

1. Both HP and rentals are all scam. And both Rentals and HP are good with HP being the best provided your partner falls among the 5% of good people. Yes you heard me right. There're lots you won't understanding reading my posts here unless you get into the field to experience it yourself then you'll flashback to understand better what I post here.

I'll be glad to walk you and many others who DM through with clear explainations if you all don't mind.

2. HP from individuals can be very risky because most people don't have a clear understanding on how an asset loan works so they draft out their terms and condition to suit them alone leaving aside the other person. I call that Sentimental wickedness this is the reason why somebody will demand N500k down payment for an asset of say 2.5/3.5 or 4m naira. Dont blame them most of them are ignorant , some partner will start acting up towards end of contract with excuses like, I want to travel, retrieve car due to breakdown to mechanical or accident just to mention a few.
These kind of partners are called stomach infracture partners dont blame them as well because that's tue only car most of them have so they don't want to see you walking away their only car after making full payment while they're walking with leg on the streets of Nigeria. Dont blame them too na buhari cause am

3. Rentals can be very tricky and deceitful, if you're not lucky enough you find out 5yrs have come and gone and you're still on rental, why? because most partners no matter weather you belong to the 5% league of good drivers they'll still find a black spot and some of them because of greed will tell you they want to travel so they need their car only for them to get themselves registered and start driving so they can have both the driver's and owner's earnings to themselves. Don't blame these set of people na 1m geng dashboard cause am
Now, they retrieve their car from you for now reason or what so ever even when you haven't done anything wrong... Now you're left with no car for months searching for another, won't you eat, pay bills and care for family? Where are you getting those money from? Savings of off course! So you c? B4 you knew it that 600/1m you've saved has gone down b4 the next opportunity comes by and the circle continues.

Unless favour finds you to meet a good person then you will see the end of that hp contract or save up with just one partner on rental for 2yrs or less to get your own car.

When you hear people say "hp no easy, hp no easy" these and many more are the reasons to that popular saying because most partner don't want to hear stories of constant breaking down of the car after a year because that's when the nightmare of a driver starts. This is the main reason a naija used car is a bad deal for HP because breakdown and down time start almost immediately after penning down the contract.

Mind you 2 consecutive default means you lost out in the deal. Devilish clause owner comes and pickup his car, fix it up and sell off. Zoom! All your effect and years of struggle gone.

Insurance- 140k (this insurance is only valid to the company incase of accident with the vehicle beyond repair, so they can protect their investment, so the insurance doesn’t cover me, i will have to get mine ( so why make me pay for this?)

Admi Fee - 4k plus

Tracker- 20k ( the company will be the one to get the person that will fix it)

License plate- 35k ( at the end of repayment the plate number is mine, i will just go for change of name, since they will be registering the car in the company’s name)

Upfront Payment- 70k, this money will be use as payment towards the capital, but it was not subtracted from the total yet

VAT- 94k, i will have to pay VAT too

The 363k is not a fixed amount, it is dependent on the cost of your car, let’s say you got a car for 2.4M probably the deposit will be less than 363k


The repayment window was 18 months i.e 72 weeks 4x18=72 weekly payment 4,060,000/72weeks= 56k per week

but the company was silent on some issues like, there are some months that end in 5 weeks but they use 4 weeks on their calculations so what happens if a certain month ends in 5 weeks am i still made to make repayment on the 5th week, since the contract is weekly payment

you see i may end up paying more if the details are not well spelt out

i was not in a hurry to get a car, i wanted to know the entire details of what to expect

Okay coming back to this I'll say I won't criticise or talk down on somebody's business because I don't know what they go through making that business stay afloat especially in this obodo Nigeria. The only people to blame is buhari and his geng.

First and foremost, I believe dealing with a cooperate or financial institution is far better than dealing with an individual base on my previous post on this subject matter.

Looking at it this way, remember it's an asset loan,
1. You decide the type of car and amount, therefore, you indirectly determine the total amount to be paid.

2. You are sure of what you're buying unlike the personal owner partner who go buying any kind of car weather it's salvage or not he doesnt care. But you determine weather salvage or clean titled and you determin the price. I've seen many drivers suffer in this regards to salvage vihicles... There was a guy that even collected a car a partner bought from cars45 and called it tok not knowing car was a refurbish naija used crest few months later driver and partner landed themselves in police station... We still dey settle d matyer since buhari enter power

3. And individual can wake up on the wrong side of the bed one morning and trigger one clause driver has defaulted and then collect car, but a cooperate or SMEs won't do such. Also, should you default in a week payment so long you have a close rapot with your CO you guys can look for ways to cover up, worst case, they contact your guarantors to fill in the gap.

So to some large extent drivers have more rest of mind but on thenothe hands, some COs will fraustrate the hell outta you with calls if they haven't seen credit alert for a single week. This some private individuals can understand and shift grounds maybe when your account is blocked or some other personal issue.

Generally, it's rational and all depends on the individual involve, if you're lucky to have a good partner then individual HP is better off otherwise, the micro financial institution should be your best bet.

Best way to get a good deal out of a financial Institute is to look for a cheap car... What are you looking for flashy car for? Be it in Benin or any where in Nigeria. Bro... Stay low even dangotes dey carry uber. Yes your heard me right.

I've an offline client, the man get money scarra! He was the one that asked me to look for a 2012 corolla sport the other time, I asked him, sir! Why not go for an SUV due to our roads? He said my son in a cool and gentle voice, the Nigeria of now you need some that won't announce you". Hmm!

I've lived in Benin b4 and still have business and in-laws Benin police no get wahala, how many road checkpoint dey Benin? How Many law enforcement agencies dey worry?? Abeg Benin na easy life so far you no pass your boundaries you're good to go.
Police in general self don't have issue provided you obey and know their language you won't have a problem with them at all unless you meet the one wey dog bit for yash enh enh! U self go know say na 2type if life dey.

Finally, look for a cheap car say Honda civic, accident free with low millage like that of BAZ001's assume 1.7m-1.8m... Or Toyota echo... It's around 1.4-1.5m now or big daddy...Do 2.5% then divide by 78weeks you have something around 30k or thereabout... You down payment will fall around 280-300k negotiable if you can relate well with them.

They calculate weeks and not months so stop bordering about paying more... Looking at it closely you wint get individual HP now anything less than 4m now but on this McF assets its far less. So take the opportunity now as e dey hot otherwise, you'd regretted not taking it after 2yrs.

As for the driving, put learner and give yourself 1 month you'll get use to it. Driving na mind.

How will full grown men congregate, brush teeth, bathe on the streets and parade in their dirty boxers early in the morning and expect residents to be cool with it?
