Question regarding rate. Please answer if you can

I am planning to use Uber in Lagos. What is a fair daily rate? I had a guy but he is no longer in the business. Driver will provide car and fuel. May be 5 or 6 trips a day within lagos. Will be sitting around a lot but will start about 7AM to 7PM. No out of state

30k daily

Thanks. I’m trying to locate another panel beater. This man keeps telling me he has tightened the exhaust and yet I hear the sound when back seat is occupied. I’m scared of telling mechanic because even if the rear shock absorber is good they will tell you it’s bad.

Check the two hook rubbers of the silencer pot whether they are not broken, these too might add to it, you can check it yourself .
If he's going to tie it,
-it must be done vertically and not horizontal,

- it must not be too taut (the pipe and the fastener),so allow a little flexibility,

- some 40-45 cm away from where the back tyres are, (that's d point where by design default, the pipe can lower, check if the pipe is not short by some few mm.

- check your back shock absorbers.. ( if you climb a speed hump ,notice the response your back tyres give you.

Carrying 4 people @ the back seat continously will eventually ruin your absorbers, the manufacturer has calculated the max load at the back ,hence the 3 seats.

When you set destination on Uber and its giving you 6km as a destination trip, nah, that's not good enough. More work needs to be done in that area.
Most developers are not driving so they can't fully comprehend what a driver needs when he sets destination...

What's happening since after presidential election, indrive fare has been so ridiculous while you hardly get requests on bolt...

The hustle is now so frustrating and tiring...

The secret now is to use all the apps you can lay your hands on.

For me, I prefer Rida over Indriver. The probability of getting a trip on Rida is higher than that of Indriver. Also on Rida, you can increase the price reasonably. On indriver, even the highest price available can be ridiculously low for the trip.

Just that, sometimes, the Rida app will malfunction like the screenshot below.

For those complaining about not getting request on Bolt for hours. I've noticed something about Bolt algorithm.

If you are parked at a particular place, you can stay there till 6 hours without getting any request.

Not because people around are not booking, but simply because you are static. Try to move around a bit and see the request come in.

This is my observation about Bolt recently

I don't understand this screenshot. You're bidding 1k for a 95 mins trip??

It's a server error. The person is at Allen going to Shoprite.

The estimated time is an error. The real estimated price is 800, the rider put 600, and I'm bidding 1k.

i guys, my car Toyota Camry 04 V4 , My issue is that the car do over heat when I speed from 80 upwards and whenever I ON AC, but when am in stand still traffic even for two hours, it won't over heat but once I speed off , the temperature will be raising and if I slow down it will also be going down.

This also happens when I ON my AC. The engine sound normal.

Just the over heat when I speed from 80km and when I ON my AC. The temperature will increase..

When I open bonnet to check, water will be boiling at the water reserve ( asin the water from radiator will be going back to water reserve and it will be boiling )

Because of this issue,I don stop my Uber hustle as I don't use AC due to the over heating.

When things like this happen, there's problem with the radiator.
Is your radiator a single cell?
If yes, then it means it can not carry the work any longer, thus need to go upgrade it to a double cell.
Is the radiator leaking?
Check the radiator cover, it might have gone bad and must be changed.
If you can't do all the scrutinizing, meet a rewire/mechanic to help check for the problem and resolve it.
Just pity your gasket.
Much respect, boss.

I just serviced my car on Saturday and I washed (not with pressure washer ohh) the radiator. But still over heating. Mechanic is saying I should change gasket. Want to be sure before doing it.

Moreover, today I left house around 5:40am from ijegun to VI through 3rd mainland bridge. Till I reach office e no over heat as I maintained speed level of 40-60km/h even on side traffic e no over heat. But once I drive pass 80km it will over heat.

You can do the gasket test yourself....

Fill up your radiator and remove the cap...start the car, if the water pumps out while starting the car, your gasket is gone....and when gasket is bad, whether at 60-70 your car will always over heat ...

I think the problem is either your radiator is blocked, you can remove and find blacksmith...they will help your flush and check for any leakage...around 3k-4k..... After eliminating that, if the issue persist....then your radiator fan might be the culprit...it either not optimum again or it working in the reverse cooling...

Have washed the radiator, black smith washed it for me, secondly, how do I know if my fan is working in reverse/below optimum level.

Will do the gasket test when am leaving the office closing hour.

Thank you

If your fan works directly, check if it rolls.
If it works on thermostat, on your AC and check if it picks properly.
Check the fan then.

Your fan may b working but not blowing at the right speed, check with a rewire or technician if it is working normally.
If your fan is working optimally then ur radiator must be clogged or bad. Take it for a flush. Both radiator and AC condenser should be flushed.
Secondly, do u need to top water in your radiator regularly or it never gets low on coolant?

What is happening is that when u speed, d system needs more cool water circulating, and more surface area to cool the hot water from the engine than when u are static or driving slowly.

Nylon test....when the fan is rolling.... hold a nylon in front of the fan, if it's blowing it away from your hand...good, if it's sucking it in instead, reverse blowing....

Did he wash the radiator in your presence? ---Because your symptoms is pointing 👉 to blocked internal fins of a radiator. Once the water within the radiator fins is not circulating freely, your car will overheat.
-Check the two hoist attaching the radiator for small escapes..( maybe the clips are not tightened enough)
- A good fan should blow constantly and not wobble. A general test is to place a wrap of pure water nylon ( don't use your hand, use a long thin twig to put the nylon in front of the radiator.
Put on your Ac ,your fan will start blowing,if your fan is strong enough, the nylon should stick to the condenser).

You are right, when I give the engine more power by speeding and putting AC, it over heat quickly but when on static with low speed level, Everything will be normal

Click on the search box on the upper right corner as seen in the image attached.

Your acceptance rate reduces when you don't accept, I don't know if leads to blocking of account.

It's a good deal at that price tag, but depends on the production year of the car and its health condition.
Have you had your mechanic check it?

Hello guys. Please when you take somebody to the airport, who pays the 200 naira gate fee and 700 naira parking fee.

I think bolt is better this days. The prices on indrive is very ridiculous.

My first time at the airport yesterday and I got lost at Ikeja. Map was leading me to the express through a road that has been blocked good enough I asked some guys who told me to follow a particular Danfo which led me to Guinness. A good driver showed me the airport car park yesterday if not I would have been a victim of the airport touts I’ve read about here. I later noticed the google map was leading me to the airport car park.

Always ask your passenger to direct and more will be willing to help out except if they are not use to the road..... Indrive passenger are meant to pay the gate fee and parking fee if you are picking from the airport car park but Bolt will factor the payment into your payment....
