Ever heard of the word 'catfished' on twitter?
It became popular during the 'RoyalAmebo' saga.

One character died, another character resurrected, none of it was real.

People that apply for naija visa direct have it rough and it takes ages for the visa to come out but agents get the visa same day lipsrsealed Hmmmm

Systemic failure everywhere we go

Na so we see am o! God will help Nigeria and us Nigerians, Won't be surprised if these agents are consular staff and they are all sharing the money. It is so sad that they wont allow the system to work so that they can enrich themselves, I pray all of this will end with our children's generation and we will honest people that just do their jobs and not looking for fast money.

@JDqueen
Congratulations on safe delivery,God bless your LO.
I'm a Dec mom in el Paso, using Dr. A, please how exactly did you go about getting your baby's birth certificate so soon? I'm been told it would take about 6weeks, and I'm due back in naija by 1st week of Jan.

You could use vitalcheck website for expedited service. Mine was ready in 8 days. Theres a website for El Paso birth records. U can Google "epcounty birth records". I kept checking it daily after delivery and once I saw my baby's name had been registered there, I went in person to pick it up same day for $23.

yes i used the confirmation number to get a date, but in the process typed a wrong passport number, just one alphabet difference, then they sent an appointment a confirmation using the wrong passport number.
cancelling and rescheduling will take longer time as i dont have time again.
i mailed them today to ask for a change of passport number on my ds160 form and they replied asking me to send my scanned passport to them which i have done. i attached it in the file, now i am thinking do they open attached emails? because their website says they dont open such.
if i fill the form and submit and ask them to swap, how long will it does it take them to swap? although i stated in my mail to them that i have not submitted the form yet. when i called the number i have they said they dont answer visa related issues that i should send a mail and a reminder. is there a number that can answer me directly
LadyGuinivere:

Let me get u right. U started a ds 160. Didn't complete. Used the nos to get a date abi?
Hm. Have u considered cancelling the appointment and see if u can edit? Though I fear u may lose the 32k u paid.
Option 2. Submit the ds 160 with the error and email in for them to swap with the correct one.
Cos I'm thinking, if its not submitted, they wont/cant help.
The earlier u start the better cos today don finish. Fill the new form tonight and submit tonight and send the email to them to them 8am tomorrow then call immedately

This thread can never be the same again...
I miss the days of gathering juicy info on part 1(days of Phema, Uchetobi, Tvegas) etc
Someone asks a question, reply, ignore, ask to go through thread nicely or just drop the pages where you have these info.
For newbies at least go through part 2 and 3, trust me you'd get loads of info and even referral of important pages on part 1.
Let's try to keep this thread alive once again.
God bless us all especially our little ones.

Ah ah! U have started something already. Follow up on that and disturb the living daylight outta them cos its urgent. Send reminder emails then. I know those calls and emails work even when they 'bone' u. A friend with delayed visa printing called yest. They said we don't do visa things on the phone. Later in the evening, she got a text said visa was ready. So it pays to be persistent.
The nos I have are the ones online. When I has an error , I sent my passport via attachment

Should I respond or should I not? !.....

Okie. ...first of, let's not make this about any doctor please for starters. ...

Second, while there have been sarcastic jabs here and there, bullying is a whole other level on its own.

Now onto clearing me about calling people lazy, please no offense buh let's be real for once, ...... I come to this thread and claim " I read parts one and two then go on to ask a question, answer to which is just a page away. .what do you call that. ...
I acknowledge as you state that u re a soloist by nature, well me I'm a realist. ..I don't like to patronise or sugarcoat..... wen I say lazy I mean lazy. ..I don't need to have the right I simply need to have the logical premise. ..
Next on, not everybody (not even much so ) dt comes here with new info are labeled agent! Let's not capitalise on that bekoo. ....

Now with this clique thingy, for the fact the THEY -CLIQUE are apparently jobless to come here and form clique in a faceless forum truly is untold. ...

Bear in mind that is not everyday or week a new member gives birth here and rarely do you see members venturing out into the open sea ergo what u get is similar n same stories. ..and resultant filing to very few and limited source where we end up overwhelming them.

No qualms nor hard feelings here. ..Peace yo.

Okie na, oya this is calling out to all the clique members, bekoo ignore and let whosoever don't have the patience n kindness to give MEANINGFUL answers to QUESTIONS been posted here shut d heck. ...don't bother referring newbies to pages or parts. ..pls by all means this can be done!

Finally, this is a call out to most of us here, can we kindly stop being so personal about these doctors et al.
For Pete's sake, it's money we PAID for their services. We re not their employees neither are we their office managers where we go about pulling each others hair in the name of being a fan or no.

If u wanna fought go into politics. .it's plenty there.

Dentale:
Shuoooo!!! Another dragged out argument brewing! Action always happening when I'm at work. Justwise Pele, U have ur work cut out in moderating this thread.
@Olokings everyone cannot be a research specialist. And nobody has got a right to label anyone else as lazy here. By the way, I learnt about Dr. F since late 2012 from a Nigerian work colleague based in Houston. Not everybody heard about him from Nairaland. Like someone rightly pointed out, the most helpful people on this thread have also been the most generous with information. It's usually those with limited or no info that come here posting up and down without adding real value (with the exception of a few)! And of course they get likes from their cliques (boarding school things) egging them on.
Some might think that is what keeps this thread alive but I disagree. People telling their stories, giving reviews and being real helpful to others is what keeps the thread alive. Not being sarcastic and downright rude to others or chasing "agents" up and down as if Justwise can't do his thing by himself.
Neks says the truth in that if I volunteer any info here, the first thing some folks will do is find out how long I've been on Nairaland and if not long enough, then I must be an agent cheesy.
I don't care about cliques. It's allowed to form one. Me, I'm a bona-fide soloist by choice. But saying you haven't noticed bullying on this thread means must be clueless or one of bullies yourself. Live and let live people! Let's enjoy this thread abeg.

Ok thanks, she went to vital records yesterday & they said it wasn't registered yet. So she called the hospital & they told her it should take like 4wks. She will check the hospital tomorrow.

Thanks & best regards.
She should just keep checking the vital record website to know if it's been registered. When registered, dats when she can go and pick it up.

Osycollin just voiced my fear regards this birth certificate issue, I was also told it will take 4-6weeks to get the birth certificate, "something about them being very slow and lazy". Please how soon after birth of your LO did you get yours and did you have to do anything different.

This new dr E, I identified her and planned to use her immediately I heard Zimmerman wasn't taking patients even before she became the rave of the thread, did my research on her and found out that she had a malpractice / negligence suit against her recently, but I decided not to comment until I have used her. Our words can make or mar people, let's exercise caution pls especially for situations u dint experience first hand
I heard dat too but still went ahead to use her and had good review abt her.

justwise:

They only jumped out to give 'positive feedback' of Dr A. after a member here narrated a very bad experience with the Dr which nobody denied just to discredit her story. If your experience with him is good one then fine but don't come out to discredit somebody who just went through life changing experience.

Dr A. knows about this forum according to many he spoke to so why not send one of his staff to come here to give his own view about what happened?

Mr. J I respectfully disagree. I think you may be mixing up the stories. Dr. A's matter was @ejisky narrating her personal experience and someone else countered it by narrating a family member's experience not a personal one.
Let me start by saying if this dr went by me on the street I won't know as I've never met him before and same goes for Dr. F.
I heard what Dr. A did (third party experience) and I was like wow! But on the other hand I have a friend and a former colleague that have used him and their experiences differ. Same with Dr F he has good reviews and quite horrible reviews (just like the ladywho narrated her experience).

Let's stop with the bashing abeg.

Really Modath and Nefertitiram (you guys need to chill on the Dr. A matter) I say it in the humblest way possible. What he did was painful but just chill.

Also, lots of people have babies at home in America. Someone here did on the last thread. No need to discredit someone's story because it doesn't go down with you.

I'm a lover not a fighter.
