Gbawe, If you will excuse me, I don't like reproducing referenced posts if it will clutter the space Im working on, hope you dont mind. I believe you touched on many issues and rubbed the feet where its been hurting. Good job! Many of your keypoints is an advocation for centralized power and dependency. I did not see you putting trust on the states or the regions to partner private sector, rather you laid strong emphasis of trust in the center. What benchmarks or historical timeline exist, in Nigeria, where the center has been able to recover us from a political tragedy this deep and broad? Also, since we are on Yoruba board discussing commonwealth and issues specific to our renewal, it is desirableto remind that the mainstream demands to have regional government in Nigeria. Please share your laudable insights within this vision. 1 Like |

Ogun Model School, a basis for Skilled Economy -German Consul General The German Consul General in Nigeria, Ingo Herbert, has described the 15 newly constructed model schools spread across Ogun State as a good basis for skilled economy. “It is the best initiative for the future of education in the state and Nigeria at large,” Herbert said. Herbert who lauded the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration for the initiative, made this known during a visit to the Model School located at Kobape, along Abeokuta-Interchange expressway, expressing satisfaction with the architectural masterpiece. While noting that the Model School would be an avenue for the development of vocational skills, he expressed Germany’s readiness to partner with the Ogun State Government on the development of vocational skills, pointing out that the success of the German economy was based on skilled people. “I’m impressed with this edifice. It is the best you can do for the future of education in Ogun and Nigeria by extension. Better life can be achieved in a place like this. “German economy is based on skilled people where vocational training and skill development can be gained. And Germany is ready to partner with Ogun State Government on vocational training. “This initiative would be a good basis for a skilled economy for Ogun State. With this, future development is guaranteed,” Ingo said. Before visiting the Model school, the Consul General had earlier visited Governor Amosun in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office where he noted that he was visiting the state capital for the first time since his deployment to Nigeria in September. He assured the Governor that Germany will not relent in spreading the frontiers of its partnership with the Gateway State. Responding, Senator Amosun disclosed that the state’s 40th anniversary would be commemorated with the commissioning of many lofty projects in February 2016. The Governor added that the Ogun State government under his watch will continue to take advantage of the state’s position as the industrial hub of the country. He promised that the state government will not relent in its efforts to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. He added that his administration would always collaborate with relevant stakeholders and international agencies in various areas of development. “We are the industrial hub of the country and our proximity to Lagos is an added advantage, both of which we cannot take for granted. We want to continue to do things that will attract investors by providing an enabling environment,” Amosun said. https://mobile.facebook.com/SenatorIbikunleAmosun/posts/1168836979827535?refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2FSenatorIbikunleAmosun%2Fposts%2F1168836979827535&_rdr |

N4.8BN SECURITY EQUIPMENT, PROOF OF AMBODE’S FINANCIAL ACUMEN- APC CHIEFTAINS The immediate past Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government in Lagos, Comrade Ayodele Adewale has described the donation of security equipment worth about N4.8bn to the Nigerian Police by the Lagos State Government as worthwhile, considering the several gadgets procured with the sum. Adewale, in an interview with journalists said it was highly commendable that the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode brought his accounting acumen to bear in acquiring several gadgets with such amount, adding that the development had truly announced the Governor as a good manager of resources. He also expressed optimism that the equipment and materials procured by the government would be adequate to curb crime in Lagos. He said: “What catches my fancy was the amount of money expended on the project going to about N4.8bn used in purchase of three helicopters, gunboats, armored personnel carriers, saloon vehicles, utility vehicles, power bikes and so many other gadgets including drones. It is a very good thing and a very conservative expenditure and I can say that the Governor should be commended for such amount to be utilized for that amount of materials. It’s a lovely expenditure. “Away from that, I think the people more importantly, must assist security operatives in gathering of information because curbing crime goes beyond responding to incidents of crime. We must be able to gather as much information as possible before these crimes are committed. That for me is the best form of combating crime,” Adewale said. He also advocated that the government equip the military to strengthen their operations in Lagos, and also empower the Neighbourhood Watchers, especially in the area of adequate training so as to gather and supply necessary information and evidence to the main security agencies in the State. Also speaking, former Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Teju Philips said with the development, Governor Ambode has met the expectation of Lagos residents on security. “There has been panic about security of lives and property and for me, I believe that the huge investment will go a long way to gear up the level of security awareness that the government is creating for the people,” she said. https://mobile.facebook.com/followlasg/posts/1025959790758620?_rdr |

Procter & Gamble - Lagos Babycare Facility Procter & Gamble, the well established American multinational consumer goods company are making significant headway in their Lagos facility. It should be noted that it was only as recently as March of this year that they commissioned their $300 million Agbara (Ogun State) facility. The Agbara Plant is almost seven times the size of the ongoing project in Lagos State, which is a 60,000-65,000 sqm project. However the Lagos Babycare Facility will be the first industrial facility in Nigeria to be LEED accredited. LEED measures green sustainable outcomes in buildings, during the design, construction, operation and maintenance phases. That's the 3rd P&G in the SW. 2 Likes |
