Arsene is starting to sound like a broken record at this point i think only empty stands can completely inform him of the fans displeasure at the Arsenal we have been seeing for the past 4 years Arsenal 1 - 2 Chelsea April 18 Man U 1 - 0 Arsenal April 29 Arsenal 1 - 3 Man U May 6 Arsenal 1 - 4 Chelsea May 10 Who loses to two of their major rivals twice in three weeks and still pretends like there isn't a problem with his team? it would have been three if not for Arshavin's brilliance which clearly makes a mockery of his ludicrous policy of buying youth and cheap players the first step to turning things around is to admit his policy has failed snap out of his trance and come into the real and competitive world of football.Fans have been unduly grateful to Mr Arsene and he is pushing things to the limit |

rasputinn: That's a great result. Next season promoted teams will be wary of beating Arsenal at the Emirates. If you do so, you will be relegated. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by dayokanu(m): 2:11am On May 12, 2009 |
You should think up another use for The trophy room at the Emirate cos the room is completely empty. Maybe an aquarium or use as a toilet cos I dont see any trophy in there in the nearest future |

@ ARSENAL FANS http://switch47..com/ SWITCH SAYS Arsenal is very much on course, even with the so called small boys they are presently Ranked in top 4 in the WORLD. Like i will always say it is not just buying players that win titles but lots of other factors, there are many teams in the EPL that spent more than Arsenal this season but did not make it near the Top 4!! By the way even Chelski that spent so much and with all the so called Big players has not won any title for 3 years Running, Liverpool has Big boys and conceeded 4 goals against Arsenal and Are not going to collect any title this season. It is not the Ingridient that makes the food but How applied. Arsenal will surely get some players but not like some Arm chair fans are shouting!! WENGER SAYS!! http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-our-targets-may-not-need-big-cash Arsène Wenger is only after “the right type” of players over the summer – and he may not have to spend big money to get them. Despite defeats to Manchester United and Chelsea in the last week, the Arsenal manager does not feel his side needs major surgery. He wants improvements “in the right areas” but has ruled out a raft of signings. As ever, Wenger wants quality over quantity in his transfer dealings. “I don’t think the squad needs major investment,” he said. “At the moment I don’t know what funds will be available [anyway]. But I just believe we need to continue to improve. I’m not as doom-and-gloom as everybody wants to make it after a defeat. “Of course we play in a strong league against top quality opponents. “So we need to improve in the areas that are right. That doesn’t mean quantity - and not even quantity of money - it’s just the right type of players.” [Monday, May 11, 2009] switch Adds The WENGER philosophy is Tight and a team like Arsenal that made it to where they are now with the so called small boys needs just to add that element that will turn the basal metal into GOLD, just add one two or three right players and the difference is clear!! GOOD FOOTBALL FOR LIFE!! http://switch47..com/ |

kaydee: To finally put an end to their misery . @ Switch I really dont know what Wenger thinks he is, why will a coach differenciate between quantity and quality in the game of footall, methinks there is a thin line seperating them, doesn't he think he should get both. Then i would also want to ask, what does Wenger consider quality and what does he consider an over blotted team. Another problem is that, will he be willing to fight to keep these so called talented youths if and when bigger clugs brandish sumptous carrots as wages to these players with prospects of winning trophies if Arsenal go trophyless again. He needs to reassess his policies wholistically to make sense of what he means by '“So we need to improve in the areas that are right. That doesn’t mean quantity - and not even quantity of money - it’s just the right type of players.” You will need money to get the right type(quality) of players. Seems another trophyless season in the waiting. |

@ Switch We all know your philosophy on football "enjoy sweet football, but bash chelsea at the slightest chance' People being passionate about something does not mean they are directly involved in the operation of that thing. There is no monetary gain for fans on NL and no one is directly involved in decisions taken, what we debate about is the logic in which some actions are being taken about the club we support and how they succeed eg Wengers decisions. For someone to go commit suicide because of football, it shud be obvious to you that that person has some personal self esteem issues. We are passionate about football, just like you are passionate about telling Chelsea the truth |

Arsenal - 08/09 Season Review Right then, their season is essentially over with a 4th place finish guaranteed and no chance of a trophy in a cup competition. So what went wrong for them this season? Did the mad scientist's failure to bring in an experienced centre-half and a replacement for Flamini effectively ruined their chances before the season had even begun? Which players have impressed, which ones haven't? What improvements need to be made for next season in order for them to mount a challenge for the title? |

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by Sauron1: 5:43pm On May 12, 2009 |
tayoccu: I am not dissing Wenger. . . . . Just wondering where how things went tits up. . . . . Last season, Arsenal were 4 points behind the league winners and we all thunk Arsenal had a genuine chance of winning the league this term. This season. . . . . .They might finish 21 points below Man Utd. Something is def'ly wrong somewhere. 2004: Henry, Berkamp, Pires, Viera, Campell. 2009: Bendtner, Song, Denislon, Diaby, Silvestre. Maybe this is where the problem lies. |

People can keep speculating as to what Wenger does or what he will do. Like I said earlier, the power situation has changed within the club with a new CEO and a new majority owner The CEO gave an interview recently. . . “He is not closed-minded,” the 44-year-old told a meeting of the Arsenal Supporters Trust this week. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/gazidis-wenger-is-an-open-minded-manager
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/gazidis-we-must-avoid-an-over-reaction With this man in charge, I am very confident Wenger will make necessary additions this summer - he knows the problem areas but he is not unrealistic that there is quality within the squad. We will likely have a better summer transfer season than we've had for the previous two years. Gunner 1965 |

It takes a world class ignoramus to support Assanal cos the IQ requirement is low Debo why dont you spend some time tutoring some of your fellow ass-anal fans on the basics of European football and they should quit disgracing themselves on the internet |

@ DK His perception of very far may be different from yours so it's a matter of perspective - I see no need for education. If he said Bayern were far below Wolfsburg on points, then maybe you'd have a point. Back to Arsenal matters: One other rumour floating around has been quashed - Pat Rice is NOT retiring and will still be AW's right hand man for now. Thinking back to 2006/07 when we had a very solid defence in the run to the CL finals (till the final when we brought in two players who had not participated much and then conceded) we had Martin Keown working on the defence. Would it be so bad if someone like Keown came in and became our defensive coach or AW's assistant like Pat Rice is? I suspect our defensive problems are likely more coaching related than simply down to player quality (though silvestre is and will always be crap regardless of the coach ) That is speculation and a long shot though - Wenger doing that would be publicly admitting failure in that area, something that doesn't appear likely at the moment. In some ridiculous speculation, Chelski want Ade? Please take him - no less than £25m though http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/05/14/blues-in-for-adebayor-to-replace-drogba-115875-21356809/ |
