The House of Representatives member representing Lafia/Obi Constituency(Plateau State), Abubakar Sarki Dahiru has been dragged before the Federal High Court sitting in Jos by his predecessor Dr. Haruna Kigbu in a case of alleged certificate forgery. Kigbu represented the constituency between 2011 and 2015, sought re-election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but lost to APC's Dahiru who he said reportedly forged his academic records which he used to secure employments as well as the ticket to run for the last election.


Kigbu is alleging that Dahiru lacks the “basic requirements” to have secured admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Kaduna, to study for a National Diploma (ND) in Accounting, in a case filed by his lawyer, Barrister D. N. Dashe. In suit No FHC/J/05/141/2015, the petitioner also alleged that the said polytechnic, “by its regulations, never admitted the first defendant for a national diploma programme, having only obtained only a pass in Islamic Religious Knowledge and failed all the other seven subjects he sat for”. The judge has however adjourned the case for further mention on 14th December.
