Completely inaccurate and senseless talk by the celebrity. When you become a celebrity in Nigeria, your sneeze can make headlines while people who actually know what they're talking about are roundly ignored to the detriment of us all. Does the Ebuka know about Sharia during OBJ's time and what a massive landmine they planned for Obasanjo with it when he retired all their political soldiers from the military? Well, he was probably a clueless teenager at the time, more interested in "toasting" girls than knowing what was happening in the country. If Obasanjo wasn't president in when he was, there might have been no democracy today. The burden of great leadership is that they seek to solve a problem so that ordinary people would never know what might have been and hence do not appreciate what has been done for them.

By his name Ebuka would identify as Ibo. He's almost married now and has been an influential person for years now in Nigeria, at least among young people. What has he said about the Biafra crap? Does he think he would still be doing big boy in Lagos if Nigeria gives his kinsmen the dumb idea of a Biafra (which I wish so hard should be the case)? Let all those Ibo people be looking for whom to blame. If there is a Biafra, they would all be bundled out of every part of Nigeria without option. It would be back to their vomit of 1967

When I equated IPOB to the current boko harams, igbos on NL was pulling teeth and nails.

The North is not going to release you and you're going to turn into another militant group within your region. If you start attacking the SW, trust me, your 2x2 shops will not go unrazed.

We had militants who wanted their ND rep, boko harams who wanted their arewa islamicized republic, now we have biafrans.

What is Ebuka talking about here? We cannot compare both Boko Haram and ND militancy to some set of misguided youths who are putting their lives in harm's way for a delusional leader.
how do you think boko haram started?
We can all yell our lungs out', but we all know deep down that he is right. They are not violent until a few of them get arrested or mistakely killed.

Fight for Biafra and we will hold your oath fulfilled....you refused now you're dead!
alopy:
ON THE OGONI'S REMEMBRANCE DAY!
Final Statement From Ken'Saro Wiwa Before His Death.
My lord,
We all stand before history. I am a man of peace, of ideas. Appalled by the denigrating poverty of my people who live on a richly endowed land, distressed
by their political marginalization and economic strangulation,
angered by the devastation of their land, their ultimate heritage,
anxious to preserve their right to life and to a decent living, and determined to usher to this country as a whole a fair and just democratic system which protects everyone and every
ethnic group and gives us all a valid claim to human civilization, I have devoted my intellectual and material resources, my very life, to a cause in which I have total belief and from which I cannot
be blackmailed or intimidated. I have no doubt at all about the
ultimate success of my cause, no matter the trials and tribulations
which I and those who believe with me may encounter on our journey. Neither imprisonment nor death can stop our ultimate victory.
I repeat that we all stand before history. I and my colleagues are not the only ones on trial. Shell is
here on trial and it is as well that it is represented by counsel said to be holding a watching brief.
The Company has, indeed,
ducked this particular trial, but its day will surely come and the lessons learnt here may prove useful to it for there is no doubt in my mind that the ecological
war that the Company has waged in the Delta will be called to question sooner than later and the crimes of that war be
duly punished. The crime of the Company's dirty wars against the Ogoni people will also be punished.
On trial also is the Nigerian nation, its present rulers and
those who assist them. Any nation which can do to the weak and disadvantaged what the
Nigerian nation has done to the Ogoni, loses a claim to independence and to freedom from outside influence. I am not
one of those who shy away from protesting injustice and oppression, arguing that they are
expected in a military regime.
The military do not act alone. They are supported by a gaggle of politicians, lawyers, judges,
academics and businessmen, all of them hiding under the claim
that they are only doing their duty, men and women too afraid
to wash their pants of urine.
We all stand on trial, my lord, for by our actions we have denigrated our Country and jeopardized the future of our
children. As we subscribe to the sub-normal and accept double standards, as we lie and cheat
openly, as we protect injustice and oppression, we empty our classrooms, denigrate our hospitals, fill our stomachs with
hunger and elect to make
ourselves the slaves of those who ascribe to higher standards,
pursue the truth, and honour justice, freedom, and hard work.
I predict that the scene here will be played and replayed by generations yet unborn. Some
have already cast themselves in the role of villains, some are tragic victims, some still have a
chance to redeem themselves.
The choice is for each individual. I predict that the denoument of the riddle of the Niger delta will soon come. The agenda is being set at this trial. Whether the peaceful ways I have favoured will prevail depends on what the
oppressor decides, what signals it sends out to the waiting public.
In my innocence of the false charges I face Here, in my utter conviction, I call upon the Ogoni people, the peoples of the Niger delta, and the oppressed ethnic
minorities of Nigeria to stand up now and fight fearlessly and peacefully for their rights. History
is on their side. God is on their side. For the Holy Quran says in Sura 42, verse 41: "All those that
fight when oppressed incur no guilt, but Allah shall punish the oppressor." Come the day.

My dear, yorubas are not complaining about seccession. No one feels margnalized or goes arond wt a victim mentality. Nigeria will get better wt time. The niger deltans have always had a gripe wt d govt over resource control. Unfortunately their son did nothing. Its ONLY u pple dt want to secceede. And now u want to force everyones hands.

Why dont u guys just like peace except ur in control??, 6yrs into our independence u committed a coup because u were not in control & d country went down a bloody path cos of it. 15yrs into our new democracy AGAIN u want to scatter d whole board game cos ur not in control. Are u d only tribe in Nigeria Its like dealing wt impatient greedy wild animals.

You keep mentioning control as if it directly affects your well being or those around you?

What you don't appreciate yet is that becasue your kinsamn is in aso rock will not improve your Quality of Life; if Rocahs is allowed to rule how does that help the Igbo development

The board game has been a mess from the word go: forced marriages do not last because it wasn't mutually agreed

I am sad to see millions of youths life and destiny being sacrificed on the altar of a wasteful nation

Norway has been ranked, for five years straight, as the best country in the world...can anyone want to secede from a working partnership?

Like I have been saying Secession isn't the answer regional government within a Nigerian state is like u have in the US, Canada etc

It's insanity to expect different results by applying the same methodolgy

The earlier we snapped out of the Nigerian nightmare the better for every Nigerian

The Nigerian must come before Nigeria and not the other way round

Regional government makes sense. We agree on dt one. But its useless without rotational central leadership across d regions and at least 50% resource control. Nigerians are too tribal for us to vote normally. Clearly this election shows pple take rejection personally.

Nigerians aren't too tribal as it appears; it's just that having your kinsman, they assume. Is the best way to achieve regional development, which most times is tragically reduced to roads, which most times aren't built, Obasanjo is a classic example

Imagine if west Africa was re colonised and Nigeria, Togo, Benin and Ghana were lumped as one country....tribalsim will play out again

We need to "own" Nigeria on an individual level and the only way is to decentralise the government and let the people determine the growth of their region.....

But Obasnajo never wanted to hear of it; nor Yaradua nor even a less power hungry Jonathan....its a big NO for Buhari

Regional government with 80 percent resource control is the smartest way to turn Nigeria into a viable country within 10 years....

That's the change that is needed, that is the change we want, anything short of this is a mirage, a scam

But why is Buhari scared of referendum if not for the possibility of the north loosing our Oil in the South South

Only Truth can set Nigerians free

Buhari cant be scared of a referendum when NO ONE has called for one. He cant just split d country. There has to be a formal request from a region, like in scotland.

80% resource control is not wise. The regions shouldnt be more powerful dn d centre. We can maintain individual police systems but we need a federal army. Regions would become distrustful towards one another if everything is completely decentralized. This is d reason d aburi accord fell apart. Ojukwu wanted complete confederation wt a decentralization of d army, but at dt point 70% of d nigerian military was igbo. Everyone knew what would happen next, they would easily invade d midwest for their oil. And he proved them right during d war. He couldve gotten away wt port harcourt & moved but he entered d midwest. The midwest was NEVER part of d old eastern region.

If resource control is 80%, then its better to just split into countries. Ur saying this because ur from d southsouth but Nigeria existed before oil. And oil might be too costly to get out of d ground very soon. What will you say then? Think about it. I actually want to understand ur opinion.

There isn't any need re-inventing wheel. Canada is a classic confederate with multiple languages but today is a viable nation and the citizens are glad

the regions must be autonomous on every front else we are still stuck in an inefficient state with the citizens suffering for it

The autonomous regions would benefit from seamless bilateral

The centre will only have control over institutions like the Military, judiciary and executives to oversee very limited areas

Until the center is limited in its extant powers, this madness for power for the centre, without any meaningful development, will not allow the regional governments to to be creative about development

I agree about autonomy and decentralization but we arent as united and commonsensical as canada. I bet 100% of nigerians will agree to autonomy and decentralization. Its a fact it will make us a more prosperous nation where every region is producing. The issues arising will always be on degree of autonomy & decentralization. I hope it becomes a national discuss soon. Clearly our country will not go anywhere fast wt d current system.
