The Nigerian Contingent of the African Union Standby Force (ASF) yesterday returned to the country after 2weeks of intensive training in Peace-Keeping at the South African Army Combat Training Centre in Lohatlan.

The Nigerian Contingent is made up of 41 officers and soldiers.They were received by Commodore Uche Onyia on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff Major General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin.Speaking while receiving them Commodore Uche Onyia said the ASF acts as a unifying and standing force charged with the responsibility of attending to insecurity and emergency situations in African continent.
