Re: 109 Senators To Train In Facebook by RedCapChief(m): 8:55pm On Nov 12, 2015
Another waste of Nigeria's money. Even if a 21st century senator of the largest economy in Africa can't use Facebook, can't they use local content providers to learn? They don't have to fly in expatriates.
I'm sure this project will cost 120 million naira

The training has been fixed for next week, and is to be conducted by Facebook Africa’s head of policy.
All 109 senators and their aides are to undergo training in how to use Facebook and other social media.

The training is to help them communicate effectively on issues of public policy and good governance.

In a statement, Senator Isa Galaudu , chief of staff to Senate President Bukola Saraki, said the training is in line with Saraki’s promise to bring about a more representative legislature through use of technology and tools for an electronic parliament.

The training has been fixed for next week, and is to be conducted by Facebook Africa’s head of policy.

The Facebook team is billed to arrive Nigeria on Sunday.

Who voted and elected these senators?

Tomorrow Google would train them on how to do a proper search. #Onechancebus#
No blame them. Social media is gradually getting them on their feet. They're learning it now after we all know we don't need their primitive media outlets to get access to information.
They are as primitive as relying on newspapers to tell us what they want us to know, still assuming we believe everything Nigeria media tells us, and are in the dark about what happened to true journalists like Dele Giwa that got silenced for a reason only beneficial to a few.

Today, we know more than they want us to know, thanks to social media, and they need to catch up with today's youths.

Most of them won't be worth anything in a few years from now.

Even in developed countries, people don't rely that much on whatever they see on TV. Newspapers are almost extinct.

I think they want to learn how to write facebook program if otherwise, our senators are lost sheeps. Did federal Government train anyone on how to use facebook or other social network? They should better enroll in one of this road side computer schools and have themselves upgraded. They should not use tax payers money for this fultility.

Corruption at its best. If these guys don't know about some social media applications, I wonder how they got to their various levels.

It's really fun because more money would be wasted. They only know how to steal with pen but don't really know how to Facebook, and so on.
