The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested eight persons for allegedly attacking Gov.Tanko Al-Makura on Dec. 5, during the funeral of Alhaji Dr. Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa II, the late Emir of Keffi.

The state Police Command Public Relation Officer, Ismaila Umar-Numan, stated this on Tuesday in Keffi in an interview newsmen.

Some angry youths were alleged to have stoned the governor’s convoy and called him names during the late Emir’s burial.

“As I am talking to you, eight persons have been arrested over the attack on Gov.Tanko Al-Makura during the burial of the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammadu Yamusa II on Friday.

“The police will continue to maintain law and order in the state considering the importance of peace to the socio-economic development of the state and the country at large,“ he said.

Umar-Numan said that the suspects were being investigated and called on the youths in the state not to take the law into their hands.

The interesting thing is that the Governor whom the tribunal claimed won election over Maku the former Minister of Information have enjoyed widespread hate in the state raising questions to the independence of Electoral Petition Tribunal's judgments all over the country in favour of APC candidates and particularly Maku's case where he presented all evidence including INEC issued electoral material and results sheets clearly showing that he won in 8 Local Governments in the state.

Stoning of governors is now the order of the day especially in the north... Am sure the people are slowly realizing they have been scammed... I dey laugh, now na morning
