Now the trifecta is complete. On the heels of Microsoft's Project Natal, Sony has unveiled their own answer to the motion controller, this one utilizing a newly upgraded PlayStation Eye.

The camera is used to put players in the game, where the motion controller can be replaced by a gun, sword or bow and arrow, among other things. Sony demonstrated its utility in first-person shooters and realtime strategy titles, as well as it uses as a digital sketchpad and building block tool.

Right now it's all just tech demos, but the important thing is that Sony is now in the motion controller club. We'll see what developers make of it ahead of Spring 2010.
