Your are the only one that needs to take yourself seriously if you are trying to lose weight. You do not need the approval of other people. Have you done anything to make yourself lose weight? Do you have a meal /exercise plan?

That is expensive, though the Reebok or York brands can cost up to 2.5K for a single one in the UK/US. There are much cheaper alternatives - 5K for a set of 6, though the problem would be how to get it to you.

The board varies in cost. Anything from 3.5K - 7K. Same thing with the Ball - 2.5K - 3.5K. There is sport/gym shop in the Palms - Lekki. Cant remember the name - they might have some of this stuff, but dont hold your breath. The prices i've given are UK with conversion, so they might be a lot more expensive in Naija.

Sorry my dear, there really isnt any - unless you want to buy from the eateries. Packing is really the best (and cheaper) way to do it, plus you have more control over what you eat!

Hi peeps.

Modath, the lil NLander is fine. I actually have no logs of what I ate for the pastĀ  days three days shocked It has not been easy. I know I've been eating,fighting nausea,battling dizziness, fatigue, heart burn and annoying hunger that never seems to end. But I'm not complaining grin I do remember eatingĀ  two wraps of moinmoin and a bowl of garri as dinner last night and doing some walking around angry I'll pop in from time to time when I'm not too tired.

Brunch - 4 slices of whole wheat bread, 1/2 tbsp butter + beverage using skimmed milk

5pm - snacked on 1/2 glass yoghurt

D - 2 1/2 servings rice and vegetable soup, a piece of dried fish.

Water Intake - More than 2 ltrs

Exercise - Nil


Log for 10/09

B - 2 servings rice and a pcs of chicken + 3 pcs of fried plantain


L - Nil

D (6pm) - 2 servings garri(2 fist sized) + vegetable soup and 1 hard boiled egg

Water intake - 3.5 ltrs, still drinking

Exercise - Walked for one hour this evening after dinner

Got dumbbells today 4kg for 4k and skipping rope,

ouch!! modath, i dont stay in Lagos either. But i also got the stuff in the stadium. Anyways, no exercise balls or others, only the dumbcells and workout bra i could lay my hands on. No other weight apart from the 4kg in all the shops. Never mind i can assure you, you ll get all you want in Lag, try hold enough dough.

Yesterday's log
On waking - a chocolate cookie
Brunch at noon - fruit bread,not sure of quantity as it came in a loaf,large mug of lipton tea with two tbsp skim milk and two cubes of sugar
Five pm - three servings rice and stew and a pc of meat
Eight pm - fist sized eba,vegetable soup and two pcs of meat
Water - plenty

I am now getting hungry every two/three hours angry i blame the prenatal drug tongue

L - 2 servings corn flakes and skimmed milk, a cube of sugar

D - 1 small pack of indomie and fried egg

Water Intake - more than 3 ltrs

Exercise - Walking/Jogging/Running for 33 minutes, 20 lunges with dumbbells, 10 squats with dumbbells, chest press and then stretched for 1 min.

Water Intake - 3.5 ltrs

Exercise - Jogged 2 mins to warm up, 15 deadlifts, 10 squats, 12 leg raises (as you described) lied down and lifted the dumbbells till tired (dint count).


13/09

B - 2 servings rice and 1 fish

L - 1 scotch egg

D - White bread and hot beverage

Water Intake - 3 ltrs

Exercise - 20 lunges, 3 sets of squats with 15 reps each, 30 abs crunches (bicycle exercise), 10 legs raises, did 10 reps of other aerobics (i can remember) using dumbbells for my upper body

@ eja, thanks for the compliments o. This is where my problem lies o, with all these yet my weight barely moved from 85kg, i dont get it anymore. Although the skirts and shirts i squeeze myself into now fits without stress (happy for that cos ave missed them all), i feel light on a daily basis too. And i bet the scale is good cos i weighed the dumbbells on it and it was accurate. Anyways am not discouraged, am still waiting for when the scale to move, as our elders say "you need to drink water of patience and perseverance to see a crab blink". Or romeo what am i doing wrongly?

B - Nil

L - 2 servings semovita and egusi soup, one medium dried fish.

D - 1 serving rice and beans

Water Intake - 2 ltrs (cold weather)

Exercise - My timetable read rest today but I had to practice using the skipping rope, i bet it was fun. I did 68 (the counter says) minus the ones that hit my head and gut stuck in my feet grin, 10 deadlifts, 10 squats and 15 biceps curls.

pls i need advice on attempting fruit fast this weekend, where i have to indulge on fruits only mainly water melon, apple and orange. I hope its

B - a portion of white bread + beverage (unable to buy whole wheat, they supply just once a week)

L - A handful of cashew nuts

Snacked on a small piece of roasted plantain

D - 21/2 servings rice, 6 pcs of fried plantain and a piece of dried fish.

Water intake - dint take note

Exercise - Nil (weak this morning)

I really enjoyed this thread, Very informative and the fact that all most of these tips are manageable and believable earn more brownie points. I would like to share my weight loss secret too. I snubbed my car and took to public transport which involved a lot of stairs and running around. It helped be lose about 8 pounds in just 2 months, marvellous,

@OMOMAMAE - welcome to the thread. Do you have an exercise plan? If you love to eat, you MUST also love to exercise - if you are serious about losing weight. Put simply, the calories you burn, must exceed the calories you ingest, otherwise no weight loss will occur. This leaves you with only 1 option - Eat less and exercise more.

How are you doing,u go AWOL a lot these days,what gives?my leg bothered me a lot on Tuesday,but it has miraculously healed again,i did as you advised,it was only the tennis ball therapy that i hadn't done as i haven't gotten a tennis ball yet,am i doomed with this leg??.
Romeo,my belly is tiring,its going down but the part just underneath my bust[at the indentation] is now 34.5 but around my belly button is 37.5,when my c section flap was moved up,my waist measured at 35" but when it was let down it was, 39" though it is improving,and you have coached me on how to do it,i still need to rant,
I dont know what body shape i have cos apples are suppose to have slim thighs and flat ass,but not in my case, cos my inner thigh is 26",lower thigh is 23",my calf is 14" ,my bust is 40:and my hip at the widest point is 42.5"
Romeo, i am no longer going to the gym,cos any day i dont make it to the gym i dont work out and still dont make up for it. can dumb bells give me a good workout cos i feel really feel used when i do 30 mins of compound exercise with it e.g lunges with bicep curls and squats with over head presses e.t.c.

Give me a good work out plan,i really want to attack this belly before the new year cos my goal is 32".

5.30 pm - a piece of pizza (vegetables filling)

D - 1 serving rice/beans, a piece of dried fish and 7 pcs of fried plantain

Water intake - 2.5 ltrs

Exercise - leg raise (4 x 10), abs crunches (3 x 15), bicep curls (40), plank (2 sets of 30 secs each), deadlifts (10)

Ur not doomed with the leg. Keep doing what ur doing. Do try to get the ball as well and try it. It just may be the thing it needs.
I understand regarding your abdominal area, but i'd like to encourage you. Though the results may appear slow, they are surely appearing.
The Apple shape does not necessarily have slim thighs and a skinny backside. It is characterized by a general round figure, and is mostly prevalen in men. I don't think you are an Apple body shape - at least not from the figs you posted. I've attached some more body type pics for you. See which one you think is more similar to your figure.

Dumbbells will give you excellent resistance workout. As such, if you have dumbbells at home, you can do the same exercises you do in the gym using the dumbbells at home - but structure the workout so it is focused. Do not forget your cardio as well.

Give me a good work out plan,i really want to attack this belly before the new year cos my goal is 32".
This is a general plan. You can do whatever exercises you choose. Workout 3-4 days a week. 2 days resistance, 2 days cardio. On the cardio, make sure you stick to one exercise per/session, and do it for a min of 40mins (you can go for a brisk walk if not using the gym, or do a variety of circuit training exercises at home - star jumps, burpees, skipping, frog jumps, shadow boxing). Do 100 reps of abs exercise/day, 4 times a week(Any day, any exercise, but focus more on leg raises). You can do 10 sets with 10 reps each, broken up throughout the day, or break it up anyhow you want - as long as you achieve 100 reps in a single day.

You are doing quite well on the exercise front. The main problem i see is the inconsistency with your meals. You skip various meals often, and that is not good.

my bad, i noticed it too and may i ask what i need to do if i dont feel like eating? like this morning par exemple. I wish its my dinners i am even missing and not other meals. Anyways i will adjust this week.

Exercise has not been easy since two days o romeo, my abs is killing me, i cant even stand from the seat without wincing, thanks to the leg raise.

how are you doing?thank you for caring i have seen this stuff[by trinny and Susannah] on daily mail website sometime ago,,reviewed it for days on end but none is really like me,MY TUMMY PROTRUDES.these women issues are more muffin top related but i can hazard a guess and say am a cross between cello and brick but my legs aren't crooked.
On the exercise front, I'll do as advised but 4 days is not enough for me i need 5 days so I'll do 3 days of resistance,how about that./

Hi everyone, i asked for an advice but none was proffered. Please i need a further advice, i have tried to lose weight by keeping to my diet but it seems im nt successful. i normally eat like two apples in the morning, i at times eat very little during lunch time and take fruits for dinner but the weight dosent seem to fall.

Regarding your question, i have to say there is nothing called "fruit fast". You probably mean a Fruit only diet!
Fruits contain calories, and as such, you are not really fasting if consuming calories. You will not shift any appreciable weight if on a fruit only diet for just a weekend. You need to go on it much longer than that. Also, you need to embark on some type of exercise regime for the weight to come off the right way.

Starving yourself is not the right way to lose weight. Even if on a fruit only diet, eat adequate amounts of fruit to keep your energy levels up. Hope this helps.

Seems you prefer resistance exercises to cardio? Thats fine as long as you are consistent with whatever you choose to do. Take care not to go too heavy on the dumbbells as you want to tone your muscles, not build bigger ones. Focus more on higher reps using less weight.

I take fruits( Banana, Pineapeapple, Carrot) everyday around 10:00am

I eat breakfast around 11:00am and lunch around 5:00pm.I avoid late night food, yet i'm not reducing
The weightgain started when i got married and i don't have kids yet
I do not exercise except that i stop taking my cars out so as to exercise small. Please i'll appreciate any contribution.
