its property. Hydrogen was discovered by
Cavendish in 1766. Lavoiser named it hydrogen,
meaning water-former. Hydrogen is found free
only in very small amounts about 0.01% in the
atmosphere and in volcanic gases. Hydrogen can
be preparated in the laboratory by the following÷

acids, water or steam Hydrogen is liberated.
Hydrogen is also liberated when Tin,Zinc or
Aluminium reacts with hot concentrated
