Super1Star: u can never see it on internet, ask any importer or importer's buy u know . |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Super1Star: 10:39pm On Jan 19, 2016 |
Living4christ: Here comes another fabricated lies. There is no policy anywhere. SW axis is where the market is because of the purchasing power of the people in that axis. Hence, importers will route their goods through Lagos. Simple as ABC. Go to your town hall meetings and demand that all your igbo brothers should be importing only through Onne and listen to their response. 2 Likes |

sweetgala: Yes great speech! Applaudusé! Now.. Sir, Do you think that this "insecurity" in the ss would have started If the youths were employed? Open any job listing and see that 90% of advertised jobs are in Lagos. Why? Oil companies operate in ss, flunt their huge cash everywhere, Employ the barest minimum and pay them peanuts compared to the work they do. Both the employed and unemployed in ss are not happy (mostly). So in your opinion, Is this "insecurity" you keep pointing out an inbuilt culture in ss people? Am sure u know the solution already ... Let's hear yours |

Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 11:42am On Jan 20, 2016 |
Super1Star: "purchasing power of the people (sw) " Seriously? Sir.. What do the sw people do to earn this purchasing power you speak of? Please explain how that makes a man who wants to sell his goods prefer To pass the goods through Lagos and pay trucks N50,000 and more to deliver it after custom duties. |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Nobody: 11:51am On Jan 20, 2016 |
Macelliot7: How many container do you see moving from Lagos port by road to the east? Don't get me wrong I want east to get a sea port but it is not economical to the importers. Some still clear their goods through onne port but most of them that do that import machines to set up factories and not consumables. Dangote use onne port to move his cement to the east. 1 Like |

raumdeuter: Hmm.. SIR What do you think made 40milion people (according to you) congregate at lagos + sw area? I think it's business, which mostly sterns from the seaport. Now imagine we make another seaport functional and another boisterous economy like that in lagos + sw Is created.. Don't you think Nigeria will be a better place? Do you know how much customs pays as demurrage daily? As at 2009, it was in newspapers that it stood at 1bilion naira! |
Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 12:00pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
soulpeppersoup: Do you know that to move a container from lagos to PH Costs not less than 100k? Importers don't move the containers.. The empty them and use 911 trucks which are cheaper. You will soon tell us indomie uses the onne seaport too :-| |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Nobody: 12:01pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
RealityShot: A full ship don't discharge all container at Lagos port but it discharge much of its container there. The rest of the containers are sent to other west African country. Now how will you like to rigmarole from onne port to other west African country. This is business not sentiment, if you make a small mistake you may be out of business forever. |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Nobody: 12:03pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
RealityShot: No I don't but until east develop their market well enough it may remain like that for a long time. |
Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 12:04pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
GeniusDavid: Great! So where do all the cars, building materials, electronics, food stuffs, etc (all imported) come from? You know how many houses get built in that region right? :-) |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Nobody: 12:06pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
RealityShot: Bro you don't understand. I have people that have used onne port and they say its more costly. Wait do you think onne port is not in use or you can't use it if you want to as an importer |
Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 12:08pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
soulpeppersoup: So it's better for the government to allow them to berth at lagos and increase the cost of living in the country by charging us demurrage daily, weekly even for months? Do you know that the minimum demurrage days they collect is 4days? Google the rates 1 Like |

soulpeppersoup: That's because it is not fully functional.. Very few ships berth there And leaving it to be used by mainly oil firms means they charge cutthroat rates knowing oil firms got the money. Government can change that can so not? |
Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 12:15pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
soulpeppersoup: Sorry to ask.. Have you been to the east or south south recently? Some say they don't have purchasing power, but they can buy the same soap sold at 50% higher rate than its price in lagos and Not complain.. Lol.. Some people Sha.. |

CuteTj: At what point in my post was ethnic differences implied or "sideline" It's a matter of efficiency... If the youths cause problems because of unemployment.. Government should create jobs with out much PROPAGANDA. TBH.. I only liked your post because you added God.. But seriously.. God gave us choice And HE gave the children of Isreal a king as they wanted. So we should not wait for miracle. Nigerians have the power to heal the economy. |

Living4christ: Guy, pls swerve and throw your fake stories in the lagoon. I am not from SW, and what SS villages have passed through does not give you the right to justify illegality and armed brigandage! All the community development levies your people have been collecting in the SS for the past few years, what have they done with it? All the money the militants have made from their illegal activities and kidnapping, what have they done with it? Have they used it to repair their communities, or improve their lot? Lawlessness does not breed prosperity! It only impoverishes the people. Don't quote me anymore, if you are only going to justify the stupid armed banditry perpetrated by your people. 1 Like |

Re: Onne Sea Port by IGBOPRINCE: 12:43pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
sweetgala:you have spoken well but the eastern enclaves as a whole is more closer to north central state,(middle belt) and also north east, lagos and western enclaves. Come to onitsha and see men from kaduna, jos, benue, ondo and kano state, coming to onitsha main market to buy their goods. I know lagos too well, from lagos to abuja/benue state is too far. Nothing more central in lagos bro. Lagos is at the extreme end of nigeria. Pls lagos is not a central state at all. I believe you said so cos you re not a traveller like me. Only igbos can tell you how nigeria look like. We re just like a sand in every part of nigeria. I guess the facility involves in lagos seaports draw customers to them. We need such facility in onne seaport. I believe only time will tell. 3 Likes |

Living4christ: Guy, you are the one that lacks common sense and it reeks from your words. Continue believing the lies, that you have told yourself. So armed robbery, kidnapping, violence and brigandage is what you call 'opposition', in your own view? Those who use legal and non-violent means to put their demands across, are the stupid ones in your own eyes, not so? All the anarchy, attacks, kidnapping and violence that your people and the militants have unleashed in the SS, how has it improved your communities or changed your villages for the better?? If you cannot answer that question directly, please take a leap into the Atlantic and don't bother to resurface. 1 Like |
Re: Onne Sea Port by Nobody: 12:50pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
RealityShot: Bros you don't understand the eastern market. More than 50% of goods used in the east are produced in the east unlike in Lagos where more that 90% are imported. Anything you import today in Aba or ontisha that moves market. Umuoma will do the copy for you. There is no market for export in the east. Don't think the goods imported on Lagos are used in Lagos alone. Many see Lagos a business conference zone where they can come from anywhere to go and buy. East don't have such market as yet. If we must develop our market, we must focus more on what we know how to do best - manufacturing. |
Re: Onne Sea Port by RealityShot: 1:15pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
soulpeppersoup: Hmm.. Manufacturing with what? You still need some imports to manufacture. Being airplanes sources parts from all across the world to make 1 plain. And that remains so for all manufacturers. ...... . Hmm.. And all these big cars that cause hold up in Port Harcourt, OWERRI, onitsha, etc are made here bah? All the motorcycles and tricycles too? All the electronics too bah? Carpets, etc too bah? 2 Likes |

raumdeuter:it is a well known fact that the west or present sw were the first and possibly the more urbanized areas of Nigeria hence they had higher number of towns that were populated..however if you also look most of those western towns were under the cumulative oyo and abeokuta province...apart from Enugu ezike the eastern axis did not have any other place in the breakdown of towns but you have to understand that the settlement pattern was different in the eastern axis..for sure the eastern axis was nit urbanized like the western axis but it does not mean it was not densely populated..ok look at Onitsha and owerri provinces and you would see that they were higher than oyo province despite that oyo province was bigger and had more urban concubation...the eastern axis settlement pattern was scattered but the same time densely populated villages meshed together. 1 Like
