Prepping Your Face For Your Big Day – Part 1 by dolapoiyunade(f): 1:05am On Feb 08, 2016
It’s almost your big day. You are about to get married to the love of your life (ooh, there’s so much excitement in the air wink). You want to look P-E-R-F-E-C-T and you’re probably wondering how you’d prepare your face for that day. Relax girl, it’s not so much of a big deal. You don’t even need to spend so much to get your makeup-ready face.

When prepping your face, the areas you should consider are your eyebrows, your eyes, your lips and your face as a whole. In this post, I’ll be telling you how you can deal with each of these parts.

BROWS

Prepping your brows is really important because well-shaped brows improve the structure and symmetry of your face. I recommend that you give yourself at least three months before your wedding day and then get a pro makeup artist as he or she would know the perfect shape to give your brows, depending on the shape of your face.

The routine should be something like this: Grow your brows out for about 4 weeks (or so, depending on how long it takes for your hairs to grow out), let your pro groom them (it’s fine if you can groom them yourself). Repeat this over 3 months. This routine allows your brows to be properly relaxed on your big day; also, if you don’t like the shape of your brows after grooming, you’ll still have plenty of time to grow them out again and get another pro that will groom them better.

EYES

Puffiness and dark under eye circles are big enemies of great eyes and so you have to get rid of them or avoid them. Take off your eye makeup with a water soluble remover and be sure to do that gently because the eye area is quite sensitive. Stress also causes puffy eyes so make sure you sleep well and apply eye cream nightly to get rid of dark circles.

LIPS

Chapped lips are a big no-no for your wedding day (trust me, you want your first smooch as husband and wife to be ma-GI-cal ! ). First, exfoliate your lips by using a wash cloth to rub your lips (gently) for about 20- 30 seconds. This process helps to deflake your lips. Try as much as possible to avoid licking your lips as they tend to dry out more. Instead use Vaseline or a lip balm to add moisture to your lips. To get softer lips, try this DIY remedy, it works all the time. Mix a teaspoon of lemon with honey, apply the mixture to your lips, leave for about 15 minutes and rinse off. Don’t forget to apply your lip balm afterwards. Do this nightly and you’d wake up with clean and soft lips.

This is all for today, check for the second part of this post on Wednesday. Thanks for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it!
