This is the second part of this post and I hope you learned a thing or two in the first part. Here we’d be talking about the face. Bad skin = bad makeup ( nobody wants that). The greatest secret to glowing skin is water. Drink lots and lots of water. If you feel drinking water is boring, you can take watermelon instead, because it contains a lot of water.

Next, you must know your skin type to know exactly how you’d take care of it. Serums and gel treatments work best for oily skin. Milky cleansers and heavy moisturizers for dry skin, and gentle skincare products with natural ingredients for sensitive skin. For sensitive skin, you should avoid products that contain perfume or any kind of fragrance. If you feel the need to, you can go for facials to pamper your skin but you must start these facials about 4-6 months before your wedding day, so your skin can adjust to the new routine.

Exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week to brighten your skin tone. If you want to do this at home, it’s best you use natural products. To do this, mix a teaspoon of honey, a few drops of lemon and sugar together. Wash your face as usual, then apply this mixture on your face. Scrub gently for about 2 minutes and leave the mixture on for about 10 minutes. Rinse off. This works well because the sugar helps to scrub out dirt and excess oil, the honey helps to improve your complexion and the lemon helps to remove spots and discoloration. For better results, open your pores before the exfoliation by steaming your face for a minute over a bowl of water. After the exfoliation process, apply an appropriate toner for your skin type and finally, massage your moisturizer into your skin.

P.S: Depending on the type of dress you’d be wearing, you might want to extend the face washing and exfoliation to your neck (so your neck will not get jealous  haha!). So that’s all on our prepping your face series.
