one of the ways to be recognized is doing things in a different way. Yahaya should have make him take the oath of office in his kitchen. if faleke doesn't like it, let him choose either river NIGER or the lagoon depending on where he is when the news get to him. if he is Lagos, d lagoon will save him some stress but if he is in Abuja, he can do with river NIGER.

Kogi Charade Continues: Deputy Governor Took Oath Of Office At Governor's Private Home

Kogi state has totally downgraded to the state of lawlessness under the APC. The fourth democratic dispensation in kogi state kick-started on a wrong note, with the historical substitution of Yahaya Bello, his controversial inheritance of late Abubakar Audu's votes leading to his swearing in without a deputy.

History was made again yesterday but in a negative style as the deputy governor of Kogi state, Simon Achuba took his oath of office at the private resident of the governor, Yahaya Bello.

Immediately after the confirmation of Achuba by the state assembly, the media ran down to the private resident of the governor where they were told to proceed to the government house while perpetuating this illegality in the dark. On getting to the gate of the government house, armed policemen prevented the journalist from going into the government house premises while security operatives at the resident of the governor kept the media at bay. As the media were locked outside, our eagle eye cameraman got the picture of the swearing to us which took place at the sitting room of Yahaya Bello.
Since his swearing in, Bello has refused to operate from Lugard house - the official seat of Government in Kogi.
This charade has gone too far, we call on all Kogites to rise up in defence of our dear state before it totally collapse.
What kind of a LIE is these, racist like u, these is pure deformation of character, those this picture look like a sitting room to you?? U think everybody is brainless like you, the swearing in of deputy governor took place at d Lugard House aka Government House and u not gaining access through d gate shows how irresponsible u are because journalist were there....people like u should be in d ZOO

He should go and rise up against the Governor and see if that his coconut head wont be divided into two places.Ebira people are over excited for this opportunity they have gotten to rule the state and i think Falake/ Wada cases against the Governor would have been long forgone if they were to be physical confrontation.Leave the young man to enjoy the victory God has given him while it last.

Bello played Tinubu's Faleke like a toy.

It can only be good for Kogi people because in Faleke, they risked having their money sent to Lagos at every turn to pay the Jagaban of corruption.

I endorse this move.

Yes, we all endorse this illegality.

Faleke would have been paying just the way Fashola totally agreed with Tinubu, the Jagaban of change.

So! What was wrong with the location? The swear-in can be conducted anywhere so far the right officials were present!

Nice one Governor Yahaya Bello! Mr OP please quote the section of the Constitution that expressly states the venue for swearing in of a deputy governor. Moreover, the state house of assembly screened and confirmed him. So where he is sworn in is irrelevant. He can be sworn in in the toilet so far the state house of Assembly has cleared him.

Re: Achuba Sworn-In At Yahaya Bello's Home by VEE2010(m): 10:29pm On Feb 10, 2016
I don't see anything wrong with any elected/selected govt official taking an oath of office any where. The constitution did not stipulate a particular venue for such occasion. What matters is the acceptance or approval of such individual by the appropriate authority (house of assembly). Even in the US, recall, President Nixon took an oath of office while on air. This happened immediately after J.F.Kenedy was assasinated. Traditionally, one would have thought of allowing the plane to land before any swearing in. However, a govt that will perform will do so irrespective of the venue the officials were sworn in. I'm expecting the people of Kogi to set a feasible agenda for their newly sworn in officials rather than duelling on issues with no practical impact to the development of the state.
