This job has made me realise that truly we women are the problem of this world. I started this job on the 2nd of November last year and the Manager who happens to be a lady is everybody's problem in that office.

While working there its been one issue or the other, this lady in question is repulsive, cranky, rude, very proud, talks to people anyhow including an elderly man who happens to be the driver, never takes blame for her mistakes but never fails to magnify every other persons mistake. My mind has left the place since the day I found out that she was looking for a replacement for my position, that was late last month, I had initially decided to leave after collecting my salary for that month before I later changed my mind, as at now I don't know if she still intends to find someone else but my mind is just not there anymore, there is nobody they haven't threatened with a sack in that office, in fact a guy was once sacked just a week after he started work. It's just a small organisation with about six staffs including the boss, she's actually in a relationship with the boss and if they do decide to get married I don't even want to be there by then cos if she can be behaving like this when they are only dating i wonder how she will behave when they get married.

I know a lot of people would say it's best to leave your job only when you've gotten another place but you might not understand what's it's like when your mind is not just there anymore. What do you guys think? Do you think I should quit?

Seriously? You just have a bad boss. It happens to most people. Find another job and quit this one, if you've checked out. But don't quit before you've secured employment elsewhere.

Don't quit. Go to work every morning, do your job, try so much to stay out of her way, don't gossip or do anything that will draw her attention to you and if she comes at you anyway just do what she wants and continue ur day after all she is ur boss and you only spend 8 to 9 hours at work daily. Ur situation isn't that bad, I had similar situation with a mad boss and I was the manager. I couldn't stay away from his madness. If the driver drives rough on their way to the office, he let's it out on me when he gets to the office. If his wife shouts at him at home, he let's it out on me at the office, if the secretary coughs, he let's it out on me at the office, "Becos you am the manager" he says. So I resigned and for six months now I haven't gotten another job but Resigning from that company is like the best decision I have ever made. So I know what its like, waking up in the morning and just knowing you are going to deal with a witch at the office but you have to deal with it. There are no jobs out here and for a lady it isn't funny. I hate to see ladies letting themselves being taken for granted because the are broke. As a guy I do some menial jobs just to get by, but for ladies it isn't that easy... I actually resigned becos my boss is my uncle and you know how family business is like. If he wasn't a relative I would just go to work everyday, deal with his madness and get my salary at the end of the month. If he runs his company into the ground with his hands I move on to the next job.

So don't quit unless you are sure ur about to be fired.

exactly my thought !

Attitude. Change your attitude and everything will change. Can she be as rude, inhumane, workaholic, what again like Mrs Stella (not her real name), my former employer? Yet I didn't quit because of her. I did because I found a better one. Change your attitude and everything will change.

You haven't told us your reasons except she wants to sack you. Perhaps you must had committed an offense to warrant such. You have to tell us without sentiments what led to this development. Maybe with the information available to us we'll be able to proffer solution.

Hi MissKiffy, Almost every working class individual can relate to your story in one way or the other.

My candid advice.. Keep working, she cannot terminate your offer... The same God that made her not to do it during December can keep you there for as long as HE wants.

I was in the same shoes as yours last year... I hated the job and I wanted to quit. I was earning peanut and It was so frustrating. My Director's expression those period was speaking " I am kicking his asss off soon"

I had to advice myself by realizing how helpful the peanut has been owing to the fact I had no experience, I started seeing the good value the little Job has added to my life, I started Fasting every Saturday and Sunday with serious prayers telling the good Lord to keep me there for a while...

Lo and behold ! December Last year I was given an offer to be earning x2 of my peanut.. I have grown so much and I have gained quality experience within my field off work. I have equipped myself with some soft skills that matters in my Industry...

I am still pushing for better paying jobs.
I know it will definitely End in PRAISE!!

Be Steadfast and call on God

Sweetie, I totally understand. When I left my previous job cos my boss was being mildly obnoxious, my sis tot I was revagin mad. She was bringing out the worst in me, my smiles, which are my trademark, became scarce. I left without another job in hand...It got to the point where the ridge between my brows was always furrowed. Surprisingly, she's a good person with some bad taste and habits...duh!

Leave graciously dear.

A bird in hand, they say, is worth ten in the bush. Please endure and stay there until you get another job. There are no jobs anywhere, you know that. I pray the lady does not run down the business.

I can understand how you feel misskaffy, the truth is most of the people you see that leave their home in the morning and return in the evening have one or two challenges they also manage at work. bosses aren't really different, some are just fair.

One thing for sure is that, the lady in question has no love in her life. Once she has love in her life, it will impact her psyche hence hormonal balance. I dunno why we still have this kind of colleagues I'm working places. Jeez.

@ misskiffy I wouldn't advise you to quit.

Female bosses are most times weird and awkward. They nag too.
Just have it in your mind that it's about the job, not emotions.

Endure. I'm sure she has some good sides. They always do.

I guess your current woman boss has the same attributes as my former supervisor. I was reading your mail and I felt like you were referring to my former supposed supervisor. Please intensify effort with your job search and I pray you get one soon. Bosses like that are only good at making one worthless and useless. Always pray(even if it involves fasting), be extra careful when doing your job, read your mails over and over before you send them, document all her abuses towards you in the event of litigation in future.

Most importantly......Pray and intensify your job search. May God help you
