It would be okay, if the number of days they are absent are calculated and deducted from their salary.

The reason we are having more girls than boys born today; most pips now wish to 'reincanate' (if u no bliv nko?) as a woman not to miss out on the priviledges.

It can only work in a country where you are paid per your work hours, they are not get paid for the period, but Nigeria pays per monthly salary, so it can't work
Re: Should "Menstrual Leave" Be Adopted In Nigeria? by jackima: 4:59pm On Mar 03, 2016
I think it will be okay especially for some women that can't take good care of themselves during this period.

Some of them smells.

And who Is going to do her work for those 3-7 days that she won't be at work? It's simply not economically feasible.

If you are a self-employed person with no one supporting you, would you take such leaves? why impose on your boss, what you can't impose on yourself?

hmmm...pls watch what you post. they haven't started, they are only PLANNING to. and BTW that's UK. Nigeria as a country has not even reached 1% of where UK is. (ordinary light we no get). so it will be stupid of us to adopt such in a country where there is low man power at every sector. e.g in a secondary school with only 1 female teacher to teach the entire jun/sen class eng/math.... it will be disaster for those poor kids. let's face the basic/major challenges at our front and overcome them before looking forward to reward of good economy/system.

Only if you guys know just how much pain some women go through during menstruation. It is virtually impossible to work without the aid of strong assorted painkillers.

And some people are saying women already go on maternity leave. Like seriously? Do you expect a woman that pushed a baby out of her VJ to come to work the next day Have mercy.

I just heard the UK now gives menstrual leave to allow women take time off work during monthly period.

I really think this should be placed into consideration as some women tend to experience some level of psychological breakdown at work while having menstrual pains.

What do you think?

See misyarning, dude for why? When did one UK company turn into the UK?

Rubbish!! If you don't want to work, sit down at home. All these feminists apologists who will look for every avenue to advance their overly beaten ideologies. Soon, a hash tag will be created and the lazy ones will hop on the train to scream "menstrual leave".

Try that one with me and get ur sorry as.s kicked out of the office undecided

It is not even a feminist ideology. What is wrong with you people? Be sensitive to the plight of another human being for once. It is not a competition. Some women have really heavy flows and very terrible pains during their period. It is no one's fault. Most already call in sick on those days anyway. This is not a new development, they are only trying to make it official.

As much as I'd like to say yes, it's obviously not feasible in a place like Nigeria so don't let me raise my hopes...imagine taking 3-7days leave every month, chai
