Violence in Rivers State

The present situation in the state is something that calls for serious deliberations from all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to what is presently going on in the state, this has gone beyond party affiliations and it is worse when politicians tend to take advantage of the situation to score cheap political points, this is not an issue we take lightly because I have experienced how the economy of Warri was brought down with something not as serious as kidnapping, killing and beheading.
The residents in Port Harcourt should ask themselves where all the Oil Servicing companies in Trans Amadi, all the marine Companies in Aboluma came from, if you are conversant with Warri you will understand when I am talking about Enerehe Road, Airport Road, Edewor Shopping complex,Mcdermot road, NISCCO yard, the following companies actually where situated in these areas stated above, Halliburton, Schulmbeger and its sister companies, Elf now Total, Shell, Chevron, Nissco, McDermott, Oceaneering, Sea trucks and lots more, but as of this moments we only have Chevron left from the lot I mention above, there others I cannot remember that have left Warri and even left Nigeria because of bad partnership with indigenes like Delta Timber and plywood.
So what I am saying, have we sat down to ask ourselves why these companies left in the first place so that it does not repeat itself, I will say NO because if we did such problems and even worse problems will not happen again because preventive measures will be put in place to stop them.

Back to Rivers state, we are presently experiencing worse than what happened in Warri, Delta state, the State Government should not treat this with Kids Gloves but should go head on with the problem and stop it now before it escalates more than it is, people are now relocating out of the country with their families does that cannot afford it are moving down to Lagos which they feel is a little bit safer than PH because Crimes like Kidnapping, Armed robbery, Cult fights and political Leaders threat to each other has come to an all-time high, all this will not help the socio-economic activities in the state.
Political office holders and contestants in the state should take a cue from the western world how elections are done, the problem we are having at the centre on the way forward is a s a result of the contestants never having any political debates on how to move the country forward, share their policies with us, what we do here is just character assassinations nothing more, if they had any atom of policy during their campaign we would not be having all this talk of threat we are currently experiencing now I listen to the interview with the former Governor of , Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi yesterday and was far from impressed with him this is someone that was a two speaker of the Rivers State of Assembly, a governor for eight years and presently a minister of an import ministry, he should be guided with utterances not to worsen and already tense situation, no matter how some us hate to hear this he still has followers, and also a role model to others, with his accomplishments so far he is getting close to being an elder statesman and as such words that comes from his mouth should be words of love not hate, words of repair not destroy, words brotherhood, if in the process of this elections people are killed their blood will also be on his hands because he incited them with is comments yesterday.
A lot of people may be wondering why the Former President Goodluck Jonathan is having so much awards here and there, despite the numerous corruption allegations against his government, the reason why is because he had the power to continue in office and allow Nigerian to be torn into shred, but rather he choose to bow out without anybody dying, I quote the former Presidents sayings that his ambition is not worth the blood of anybody, that is a voice of a statesman, Governor Wike and Amaechi should also tow the part of our former President and ensure nobody is killed in this re-run elections, Rivers State does not know the kind of advantage they have over other states, NNDC MD, NIMASA DG, Minister for Transport all from this state, instead of using this to their advantage they are fighting to chase people away.
Goveronor Wike should with is accomplishments as a LGA Chairman for 8yrs, Chief of Staff to the former Governor and also a Minister of Education and Presently a Governor, take a cue from his Wife and her comments was rated the best comments of the year.
APC and PDP will go, but we will still remain as brothers and sisters, as far as I am concern there is enough positions for everyone, either here in Rivers state or Abuja, so lets stop the fighting, shortly before and after Adol Peterside Dakuku was made the DG I never heard his voice again, Magnus Abe lose or win you will also get something maybe an Ambassadorial position and many others will become contractors to NIMISA, NDDC and Ministry of Transport, so why drag innocent Rivers indigene into a battle that is not called for.
The current President lost 3 times before becoming the President lets keep trying one day the people will always see reasons why you should lead them
We need peace here in Rivers state, I cannot afford to start relocating again but if it gets to that we will relocate and go somewhere peaceful.

Nice write up i just hope their supporters will not allow themselves to be used for criminal acts. I think Wike is overrating himself, He has been threatening to deal with APC(ruling party at federal) in rivers state.

Wike is more of a violent person than Amaechi, he did the hatchet job as chief of staff however I agree with you totally though am not from Rivers state,I bet one day they will reconcile and it's fools that died for nothing and supporters that call people names that will be ashamed and worst for it.
