Dr. Iweala never believed in Nigeria. When she was made Minister, the first time, she rejected receiving her salary in naira. She insisted and got paid in us dollars. What manner of finance minister is this? In a suit a court, the court held that her action was unlawful and unconstitutional. Yet, this shameless woman refused to resign. She also refused to refund the dollars as directed by the court.
2. She paid hundreds of millions of dollars from recovered Abacha stolen funds on the basis of note of approval from the president. This contravened the constitution in Tha all funds must be duly appropriated. But, she totally ignored this basic requirement.
3. Let her eat her trajectories and leave us to manage the fallout of her tragic incompetence and megalomania!!!

Economists sabi talk theories sha

Admittedly, such progress is difficult; in Nigeria, we saw an opportunity in raising non-oil tax revenues, but struggled to seize it.

"South Korea and Singapore, which had few natural resources on which to rely, are no less inspiring. The secret behind these countries’ success is relentlessly focused leaders, whether entrenched but benign dictators or democratically elected politicians with a shared vision of a broad-based economy. With this statement obviously you don't know Jack shit . fall in oil price shouldn't be a problem for a country who our whole sustenance is basically on oil and it's price? Do you think it is magic? PMB he should perform miracle abi?

Even better economies like Russia, Egypt and some Arab countries are already feeling the pinch with the oil price fall.

NOI and her crew had many years to prepare for the inevitable fall in oil prices but they did not they rather supervised indiscriminate corruption. I wonder what idiotic pedigree you are talking about.

Even with the best and most efficient savings in the years of boom, things can't continue as if nothing happened with the crash in oil prices, with a huge part of foreign exchange derived from crude oil. Event the Arab countries with huge reserves some as much as $800 billion are crying and cutting subsidies for the first time in decades. It's a miracle to even keep our foreign exchange around $30 billion after almost a year of oil price rout.

It is PMB and kemi that caused the crash in the price of oil right?

When this silly woman was finance minister for many years oil prices were way high over $100. She and the ineffectual buffoon refused to plan ahead and diversify our economy. like oil will last forever

we are paying for the price of their stupidity now.

Get your facts right before spewing trash.

When IWEALA was the finance minister, she adviced that the excess crude money be saved for raining days but APC members led by CHIBUIKE and OSHI-OMO- OLE rejected the idea and insisted that the money be shared amongst the 36 States of the federation. They sued her to court and won.

Now that the raining days is finally here, the same crooks who objected her prophecy are the same ones blaming her for the Nigerians ECONOMIC DOWNTURN.

If people of this ilk still walks around and worse still have the temerity to so much as brazenly proffer craps as solutions to the nation's economic cataclysm purported, engineered, and overseen by this fiendish woman and her company of peculators, then we're in for a long thing. If this collage of looters are not upended and taken off their strides, cut down to size of the common thieves that they are, and ignominiously put to death by the guillotine--to set an example for peculator wannabes--the idyllic living we all so much crave and desire will never come down the pike. Failure to do the needful will plunge us deeper in this pervasive abyss of hopelessness.

Yes ur cattle rearer of a president is divisifying the economy by spending more money searching for oil in the NE... Forget abt d Harvard training that she's got, she's way better than any1 on the dullard's cabinet dats why she's in hot demand world over.
All what she said is theory, when we put her in power and surrounded by some factors she failed. Nigeria situation has gone beyond havard theories.

keep quiet.

She was there as Minister of finance that supervised wanton looting of the national treasury. What did the nation achieve under her especially when crude oil sold for $120 per barrel?

Absolutely nothing! Yet iPod fools want us all to believe the IMF puppet is the best thing on earth, that's why they are constantly looking for faults with the new Minister and PMB who are cleaning up her mess of over 6yrs.

puff puff woman.

So many trubalistic people here, if she really made Nigeria worse during her tenure how come buhari has not called for her head? Is it not diezani that he tackled while she is in the UK? Is it not only Edo state governor that keeps saying she did this and that of which she always cleared her self? Nigeria is now more like "guilty until proven innocent"

Honestly, I look beyond party line. I have never been a card-carrying member of any party. Politicians are all the same. But when I see something commendable, I identify with it, irrespective of the party doing it.

Nope! YOU should actually be the one to get your facts right! You need to follow the chronology of things to know why they are and therefore know who is actually to be blamed.

GEJ inherited and Excess Crude Account in the region of $17Billion in 2009, by 2011 the amount dropped to $13 Billion.
By 2012, the amount in the Excess Crude Account was $9Billion, and all these were despite the $22/barrel difference between the budgeted price and the actual world market prices.. This implies that GEJ through Iweala was carrying out unauthorized withdrawals from the ECA and short-changing the other strata of government.

The State Governments thereafter decided that rather than have FGN taking from the money, it was better to share it so that everyone can have their due allocations. So in essence, the Governors were forced to demand for the sharing because NOI was looting the ECA.

Don't you think this is a meaningless statement?. "...did better than two people are currently doing...". She was in office for 16 years and she left this mess. Buhari has already surpassed her in all ramifications. Do check this out:

NOI as an economist: Highest rank VP of World Bank.
NOI as a politician/technocrat: Highest rank, Minister.

Buhari as a soldier: Attained the highest rank in the Army, became Head of State, has a GCFR.
Buhari as a Politician: President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Tell me again, who has achieved the highest in the chosen field?

When this silly woman was finance minister for many years oil prices were way high over $100. She and the ineffectual buffoon refused to plan ahead and diversify our economy. like oil will last forever . In this article she claims dubai started more than 3 decades ago to prepare for a future without oil... so she knew all these yet she and her boss preferred to prepare for a future without oil for their families alone by looting us dry and sharing 2.1billlion dollars and disappearing 20billion dollars from NNPC.

we are paying for the price of their stupidity now.
Pmb believes in diversification too? There is no better time to diversify than now. Tell kemi that and let them face their work instead of looking for scapegoat.
Tell your Apc governor-saints that the chicken has finally come home to roast.

Dubai prepared for a future without oil three decades ago ?.

If she managed to save $29 billion with 36 big states (especially some lazy northern and south western states) depending solely on oil and the insurgency in the North East with the financial responsiblities that goes with it , she nor try?
You should ask the Abachas and the IBBs of this country what they did with the money from the oil boom
