Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by samolina1(m): 10:52am On Feb 12, 2011
@abiolag. Those softwares are simply corrupted since it's not all software that you are installing that is giving you such. Or maybe you are running invalid files. Select "large" on your "view" menu and try and run the files that have the software's company logo. Any file that have no logo may not run.

sound to me like the program you attempted to install is corrupted. one thing you can do is download the program again and try the install again. you might also want to get updates for your compuer like the latest service pack which you can find on microsoft.com

Hello people. Pls i am having a self-inflicted problem with my Dell Inspiron, it started out as some keys not working so i decided to open and just see for myself which was unsuccesful. I had to couple it back and in doing so, when i power it on it responds for about 3 seconds and it goes off again. Pls i need some diagnostics. This is a case of 'curiosity they say, kills the cat'. Thanks

what does it say when it fails to download ?
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Edubaff: 7:22am On Feb 14, 2011
It keeps displaying error reading file, not a familiar file or you do not have permission to do this or windows can't install file.
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by samolina1(m): 12:51pm On Feb 14, 2011
@edubaff. Does it download files on your hardrive? If it does not you may have poor internet access, just switch to the one that have strong signal in your area. If it can download it i.e it tells you download complete, and you are unable to open the file, the file may be damaged try downloading file from another site. If it tells you you do not have permission you may not have administrator right to install softwares try login as administrator or run it as administrator, to do this, right-click on the file and select "run as" Note: you will have to activate the administrator password if you do not have one before you can run as admistrator, to do this go to control panel and select user account and enable administrator password. These are if you running VISTA or 7, if you are running XP it may be virus effect, try getting an updated Kerspasky Antivirus.

Dear all,

I recently used bitlocker on my Windows 7 to encrypt a Portable Harddisk but decided to decrypt it when i found out that bitlocker can't be opened in XP.

But halfway through the decryption, i accidentally pulled my laptops cord and it shutdown. When booted again, i can't open the Harddisk When i Try to open bitlocker drive encryption in control panel, it is not responding and also, my computer is not recognising the HD.

What do I do to recover the data in the HD please?

lesson number 1 never try to over do things by trying to be very technical like MI6 or CIA etc

did you try to unstall the program and then reinstall ?
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by HeroKing: 2:47pm On Feb 16, 2011
I tried decrypting the Hard Disk but the bitlocker is still running on Win 7. The decryption process failed due to the power cut.
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by denzel2009: 3:41pm On Feb 16, 2011
Seriously, you dont need to activate everything you see on your laptop. Bitlocker was originally designed to be used on systems that hold highly confidential information, that is why you'll not see bitlocker on Windows 7 home edition and home premium cos home users don't need that technical cryptography.

I'm sorry mate, you might not be able able to access that hard drive anymore cos cypher texts and the algorithm keys were not completely transferred before the interruption and being a security issue, the hard disk will be permanently locked.
