Modern Day Forwards = Speed, Skill, Mobility. Simple. Suarez, Cavani, Benzema, Aubameyang, Lewandowski, Aguero etc. It is not a size thing. I hope ya Learning. |

TheGoodJoe: U are funny o. Apart from Aguero u named some pretty big dudes. Look it's simple, no matter 7 ft or 5 ft it is your performance that counts in the end. There is no such thing to me as modern strikers because we already had Ronaldo and Henry play the position anything a new striker does has been done before. 1 Like |

Icon4s: Unfortunately I do not think we currently have a stand out quality physically imposing stand out striker. Our two options are Ideye and Anichebe I have watched both of them in the EPL and thier goal tallies are far from impressive. But as a player who can hold up play terrorise the opposing defence and dominate all the aerial battles. My preference would be Anichebe he is simply a beast defenders nightmare. He may then score the odd goal. |

komekn: Anichebe is a power and physically imposing player no doubt. But where I may have problems with him is his clinical ability. Sincerely, I wish we had quality and experienced CF even in the Modes of Yakubu and Martins (in their hey days). Iheanacho for chop bench. One player I am not happy with our successive coaching crews for ignoring is Aaron Samuel. Injuries and lack of national team call ups really set the guy back. Who knows he would have grown into a monstrous striker by now. But for now iheanacho it is for me. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:44pm On Jul 02, 2017 |
BascoVanVeli: I can start listing Tevez, Rooney, Immobile, Forlan etc. I listed those ones to show that it is not about size but movement and skill. Most of them play comfortable in different forward roles. Today you can see Osimhen can play on the wings and forward, Same with Nacho. However a player like Bony is mostly restricted to playing as a forward. We can not imagine playing Alan Shearer or Crouch on the wings. Same goes to Andy Carroll or Benteke. However, Firminho is almost flawless moving into different forward roles. By the way, did you not see Suarez in that list? |

Mickael2: If they were in Manchester City, they will chop bench or not even see bench. It is about quality of the player not if you scored goals in one League or the other. When the coach is in camp, his job is to select the best quality in each position. |

England should be the one ahead...in tournaments of these kind... but never the case...even the EPL is beautified by foreign players 2 Likes |
