Please help me ask them o. Onyeka that is even better than Ndidi in the EPL this season. Onyeka and Aribo have been our best two midfielders in Europe this season as Ndidi has been struggling with Soumare pairing. No coach will select Nwakali over these guys except by favoritism. I have a feeling that Nwakali will get to the AFCON and when he gets gametime, he'll put on a howler that will show how far he currently is from the level of the best midfielders in Africa who play for the top clubs in the top leagues in Europe. It is not by being technical or commanding midfield, if you are not on the top level professionally it will show. Imagine Partey and Kessie who have been playing consistently against the best players in the world coming up against Nwakali in midfield. Who do you think will win the duel?
Mark my words, Nwakali will boss them as brain is mightier than brawn. I have watched enough football to realize this. Algeria proved it to us in the semi final of afcon 2019 when they bossed the midfield and Etebo ran out of ideas. The league you play in is overrated. Midfield conductors are very efficient and difficult to mark and at the end of the day they win matches. I can vividly remember i used to think like you and underrate Kanu when Nigeria needed to play. At the end of the day Kanus passing and creativity was needed. Anyway we can play Nwakali with ndidi and onyeka or even play 4 players in central midfield with one winger and ask aribo to play close to the box 18 like Lampard. In a few years from now Nwakali will be in a better team. What is Thomas partey. Nwakali will take him to the toilet and defeacate on him. He will do gra gra and collect a red card. Midfield conductors are unique in football and you can keep on underrating these kind of players. Time will prove me right. 6 Likes |

drDoom3: Menhhhh! Onyeka got that potential to be a world class player. He is got massive talent that can’t go unnoticed. He is arguably the best midfielder we have now though still growing. I don’t see the reason to keep him on the bench in this tournament. He should be starting games alongside Ndidi. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Started what? You see what I am saying? Why trying so hard to play clever on my own post? So you didn't understand a thing I typed? Loolll.. Na wa. I didn't acknowledge they are different. I made reference to Onyeka's time at FCM and how he is actually naturally a CDM just like Ndidi. How did you miss that part? TheSuperNerd: Then I went on to say his role at Brentford is only for him to lead the press but doesn't automatically cancel the fact that he is indeed similar to Ndidi in many respects. Funny how you replied my post without understanding a thing I said. Funny. Abeg rest. I think enough have been said. drDoom3: 1 Like 1 Share |

Papi85: Well, that’s their personal opinion though I would like to see what he can offer to the team but I am worried if he is paired with Ndidi because I don’t know if he has improved defensively else Ndidi could be overwhelmed by opponent in the midfield. 3 Likes |

This is why sometimes, I wonder if some truly analyse the game or just yap because they wanna see one fail and another succeed. What sort of mentality is that? What inspires one to reason this way? Anyway, it is fine. Time will settle all these. TheGoodJoe: 4 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: I am not wishing anything. I hope he succeeds. However, I say things the way I see them. When you do not play your best players due to favoritism, it will always bite you in the back. It is just like saying starting Ighalo as our 9 in AFCON is a recipe for disaster because he has not been playing at the top level. Does that mean I hate Ighalo or wish him bad and hopes he fails? 2 Likes |

ChrisKels: Personally, i just have more conviction that Onyeka, and not Nwakali, will be SE revelation at this tournament, bar injury. My hopes are raised high on him than Nwakali. I don't mind being proved wrong though. Its 7 games to Glory!! 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: The now thing is that we are underplaying Onyeka's form this season in other to make Nwakali look great. Which is both unacceptable and unfair. One is doing great in EPL and the other isn't even among best this season in Liga. That's one of the reasons this Nwakali thing is baffling me personally. Not that i don't think he is capable or good, but the downplay. 3 Likes |

The Begging Question Who among this newbies to the Midfield is going to be exactly (if not more) reliable like Oghenkaro Etebo was in the last AfCON? Its more about that reliability for me. Cos most times, clicking doesn't have enough time to work, but doing what's required to stay afloat may just save the day. Its also why uncertainty is louder. All the gbasgbosaggery doesn't change this fact. 1 Like |

Ahmed Musa later traveled with the team to Cameroon against some reports...the team departed with fun from Abuja international airport...I saw great bond among the players, really surprised seeing Nwakili carried Semi Ajayi luggage, meaning Arsenal bond...Olisa na real niggar o....Musa steal the show with Hausa guys around hailing him.Awoniyi damn humble...Iwobi and Aina are real comic guys ..senior man Iheanacho as usual funny die...Ekong first to enter airport terminal...Ndidi cool..Onyeka na real tank o....Aribo solo man.....Maduka was hailed at the airport as president of association of fine boys....Sadiq too cool o....Ejuke,Awaziem dey blow Igbo like kilode....Akpeyi real mature man.....Uzoho gentleman with strong face....At last 25 players made the journey, trio of Ebuehi,Collins and Ighalo if he was able to secure his release will join the team in Garoua Cameroon. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Nope. That is not my intention or target at all. Onyeka is doing great in the EPL and I watch his games as regularly as I watch Nwakali's. Infact, I watched both lads on January 2 when both played their last club games Pre-Afcon and dropped my takes after both games on twitter on my TL. How I follow these lads and take my time to analyse their strengths and weaknesses and look at which would enhance our midfield plays the most should tell you I mean well. And you are wrong on Nwakali because he has been among the best performers in La Liga Smartbank in recent weeks. Played every single minute in December. He has become unbenchable. Few Cartagena fans on twitter were even excited he would be missing against them due to Nigeria duties. That should tell you something. Onyeka is doing really well in the EPL but does his performances address the deficiencies we have the middle? This is the real tactical question. You can have 3 DMs doing so well... the question is do you play them all just because they are all doing well and featuring in the best leagues without actually checking for the best tactical pairings that gives the best balance in the middle game? So don't get it twisted. I am only emphasising what Nwakali brings to the table. And I do that without downplaying Frank the Tank. Frank has his qualities that will help us strongly in Cameroun. That is not in doubt. daveP: 5 Likes 1 Share |

Cc: TheGoodJoe et al Below is a neutral view coming from one of the finest Sports Photographers/Photojournos in the country - Modo Victor... someone who witnessed the training sessions live before they left for Cameroun Recall that before my sabbatical, I have always harped on Awaziem having the best passing range among all our Defenders. I showed clips of how he did it at Boavista and how he repeated it in GWG colors vs CAR for Balogun's Goal. This is just an example of making careful observations overtime before reaching analytical conclusions on players. 7 Likes 1 Share
