Joebie:
good news.. I heard of his trials with Leicester City after being released by Chelsea.. it took a while before this announcement.
This is a young boy who already dreamed of being the best in the world in a couple of year. He had great dreams, and great talents as well. One of the youngest of the U17 Class of 2013.

He was released by Chelsea a long time ago, way before this trial with Leicester.

Watford v Bristol City player ratings: Isaac Success' second-half introduction not enough to liven up poor Hornets defeat

Ron Walker  ronnabe

Just when we thought it was safe to get excited again, there's nothing like Watford to bring you back to earth with a bang.

On the back of two committed, entertaining performances, last night's defeat to Bristol City gave drab a bad name, and was pedestrian from start to finish.

That was aside from a 10-minute spell just after half-time when the Hornets finally looked interested - and carved the Robins apart to score a well-worked opener.

But after full-time Marco Silva's rage was felt for the first time following a performance he all-but admitted had been born out of complacency, there is much to improve before Brighton visit the Vic on Saturday.

Here's how we rated the woeful Hornets in their annual early cup exit.

Substitutes

Isaac Success – 7
Looked at his best and like he had a point to prove – and put in some really good deliveries, too. May have forced his way back into Marco Silva’s reckoning on that performance.

Adegbenro comes from the bench to fire a brace to help Rosenborg knock out Ajax from Europa League.

Two well taken goals. The second was a delight.. I must say he is a SE material. I'm now sold.

Modified
Dude single handedly wrecked Ajax. He scored the only goal when they beat Ajax in the first leg

Super Eagles Striker Success Prefers Return To Spain Over Hull City
Published: August 24, 2017
Super Eagles Striker Success Prefers Return To Spain Over Hull CityFormer Granada striker Isaac Success is being linked with a move to EFL Championship side Hull City, but does not fancy playing for a second-tier club in England ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

According to Success's adviser, some La Liga clubs, including Leganes, have made enquiries over the availability of the Nigeria international.

''Success is attracting interest from other La Liga clubs apart from Leganes,'' Success's representative told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''It will be a bad move for him to join Hull City on loan before the World Cup, I think the new coach might have his own players and does not want to use him.

''We watched him during Watford's pre-season in Austria, he was one of Watford's best players. He is not overweight, he trained with his former club during the holidays.''

Success appeared off the bench in the 46th minute in Watford's 3-2 loss to Bristol City in the League Cup on Tuesday night, the first time he has been named in the 18-man squad for a competitive game in the new season.

The last paragraph ended with "too crucial to try new players".

Nigeria vs Cameroon: Why Dennis Bonaventure, Dessers were not invited – Rohr

dailypost.ng

Aug 24, 2017 4:34 PM

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has encouraged Dennis Bonaventure of Club Brugge and Cyriel Dessers of FC Utrecht to keep working hard, if they want to be invited to the Super Eagles squad.

Dessers has three goals from just two games in the Dutch top flight league, while Bonaventure has four goals from the first five games of the Belgium top flight league.

Both players were, however, not called up for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon and Rohr has explained why.

“You can’t have everybody in the list at the same time, but I can confirm to you that the form of Dessers and Bonaventure has not gone unnoticed and they will definitely get their chance,” Rohr’s aide told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“Mikel Agu and Anthony Nwakaeme even John Ogu are good examples of players who kept on doing their best for their clubside leaving the coach ‎with no option than to call them up.

“All what Dessers and Bonaventure need to do is to keep working hard and they will definitely be rewarded very soon. We have games coming up but the Cameroon game is too crucial to try new players.”

Why NFF Invited Chelsea Defender Aina For Cameroon Clash, Not Cleared By Fifa

mobile.nigeriasoccernet.com

Aug 24, 2017 9:26 AM

Chelsea loanee Ola Aina is unlikely to make his international debut for the Super Eagles when they tackle Cameroon in Uyo next Friday because Fifa has not yet approved his one-time switch from England to Nigeria.

The Hull City right back has been named in Nigeria's latest roster, nonetheless, and the Nigeria Football Federation have explained that the former England U19 skipper was called up so that he can familiarize himself with the team.

It would be recalled that Ola Aina's family friend, Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, trained with the Dream Team VI while he was waiting for Fifa to give him the go-ahead to represent the colours of Nigeria.

''Ola Aina has not been cleared yet, it is an imminent move, it is something that will happen,'' a Nigeria Football Federation staff revealed

''It is just for the player to start familiarizing himself with the system pending when he gets his clearance, that's why he was invited.

''We don't have natural right backs, we only have utility players or people we convert to play that wing but Ola is a right back.

''While he waits for his Fifa clearance, we want him to mix up with the team and see how things are done in Nigeria. It will the first time in a long while he'll be in Nigeria.''

It remains unclear if Ola Aina would honour the latest invitation to the Super Eagles, as he skipped the team's get-together in France in May because Fifa had not approved a one-time change of association

Cameroon Lose Star Forward For Super Eagles Clashes
completesportsnigeria.com Aug 24, 2017 12:58 PM
Cameroon’s hope of unleashing Clinton N’jie against Nigeria in the September 1 and September 4 World Cup qualifiers has been finally dashed on Tuesday evening after Olympic Marseille confirmed that the striker will be out for two weeks.

Cameroon.info.net reported that the country and indeed FECAFOOT had waited to know the extent of the former Tottenham forward’s injury and hoped against hope that Njie would be available for the double header with Nigeria.

But their hope went up in flames when French website L’Equipe reported that the former Spurs striker will be out for two full weeks.

N’jie was injured in last weekend’s Ligue 1 clash between Marseille and Angers which ended 1-1. N’jie’s goal seemed to have sealed three vital points for Marseille until Angers rallied back to tied the game.

N’jie is third in the Ligue 1 goalscorers chart with three goals behind Radamel Falcao and Neymar who have netted five and three goals respectively

of invited players for the clash on Friday.

There is this Nigerian lad, Samuel Adegbenro, he plays for Rosenborg as a winger. The lad his pretty hot presently, saw couple of his goals recently.

I hope Rohr looks at his direction.

Adegbenro is better than Norway and a good season in the Euro cup might help him get a good move. However, the position he plays from the wings is crowded.

In other news, Owusu Kwabena, joined La liga side, Leganes straight from Sporting Club, Accra. Can't wait for NPFL players to be able to do that.

what I mean is that put IGHALO in ur CF, and move NACHO to SS

and put ETEBO in place of IWOBI,

in halftime subs, to confuse the opponent,

bring on IWOBI for IGHALO, shake the set up a bit, by moving NACHO to Cf, ETEBO to SS, and IWOBI on the wings,

tactics

A lone Iheanacho striking against tall and strong cameroonian defenders? You do well.

Even against SA, he did zitch, not to talk of Cameroon. He's better played behind a stronger and decisive CF.

Crowded? Every discussion must not be about the super eagles.
Adegbenro is a very good winger. We should celebrate when we see a talent coming through.
Mikel used to play in Norway for a much lesser club than Rosenborg and he never played Europa cup before Chelsea snapped him up.

I am talking about the Super Eagles (what the thread is about). Onyekuru, kalu, Bonaventure, Olayinka etc can't get a look-in. A crowded position.

Mikel was one of the most highly coveted youngsters after the under 20 world cup in 2005. He did not have to play for a big club to be spotted. Mikel also had trials with big teams after the under 17 world cup. Several teams already knew about his potential.

So the Mikel comparison doesn't work.

I saw Adegbenro play a few times last year. I am not knocking against his talent.

The tactics behind substitutions is dependent on the way the game progresses. Are you chasing a game? Is it still at a stalemate and you need that break through? Or are you protecting a lead? Is there a weak point in the team that you want to strengthen? Are you losing midfield battles? A whole lot of things.

So the best we can do now is to predict starting line up. Leave substitutions to the actual game.
