football banter is best enjoyed as it is hot. It does not wait for any one neither does it discriminate. It's an equal opportunity merchant. There is chance for everybody.
Chukweze is nowhere near being a prolific player. He needs to up his game in terms of scoring.

In his early days , I used to think we've got a Nigeria Arjen Robben in our hands. But the guy don disappoint me.🥺

Interesting. Thus was so insightful.

The last part where it states the creative role has now been vested in the DM, I think we can now forgive Mourinho for converting Mikel to a DM.

Man was ahead of his time.

Too many of ur talks na offside, guy.

He's in AC milan but as a f**ing substitute.

So what difference does that make?

He should be sitting pulisic down or at least
start 3 games out of every 5.

Why do you think Pulisic is sitting him down? Your guess is as good as mine.

Asin. I hope Kluivert Jr plays better than his dad sha. He gats.

People are divided over okocha performance in this friendly. Dunno why. I'll rather say Da Bull and Tijani were wack that day. They didn't play as a team in 1st half too.

Exactly. We don't have playmaking forwards either. We have a few playmaking wingers (e.g. Chukwueze) but we aren't utilising them right and also one of them is so piss poor in his decision making (e.g. Ejuke)

Thing is based on the profiles of the talents we have currently, it is imperative that we bring in the profiles that will do more to raise our quality of play and boost our chances of winning games more with the wickedly deep attack we have.

This is not about experimenting or checking any longer. I am not of the opinion that you call a player to "check" what he can bring. You should already know what he brings and cross check that to whether it is what will improve the team or do little to raise our game.

When I recommend a talent or player for the Super Eagles, it is because I have already analysed deeply and checked what he will bring to the team. So it is not an experiment. It is not to check anything. It is rather to slot him rightly and let him produce the goods he was brought for.

I say it again. Jpes doesn't know exactly the profiles of several of the talents of his disposal. This is why he keeps missing it in terms of where and how to utilise some of our finest.

Philosopher1979:

Anyway firmino of liverpool is a false 9. So he was somewhat a play maker for liverpool.
U know what if we had play making forwards like firmino cantona messi jao felix kanu etc we might not even need creative midfielders but we dont

That 2005 U20 team. Solid. Even spotted a Young Daniel Akpeyi. Lol. Always the pastor in any NT Setup.

Spotted Solomon Okoronkwo too. That guy was a terror to defences during the U20 AYC (U20 Afcon). Sad how he didn't live up to his potentials.

Solomon Okoronkwo was the only player in the group playing in a top European league going into the competition. He already hv played few matches for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga and was highly rated

Taiwo hv signed for Marseille but yet to make his debut in Ligue 1

another player I loved so much in that team was Onyekachi Apam

Tipped him for greatness in Europe but his career nosedived after series of career threatening knee injuries that later ended his career prematurely

He was even on the verge of joining epl side then Sunderland from Ligue 1 side Renne before he got injured, recovered and moved to MLS club Seattle Sounders but didn’t make any appearance in the league before retiring

Injuries do the guy bad thing. Very robust, fast and strong in 1v1 situations

Had the same no nonsense approach like CIV defender Eric Bailey

Yes, hence the expectations on him back then going on to be something big for Nigerian football but alas after 2008 Olympics where he won Silver AGAIN (following the U20 World Cup Silver in 2005), he just went into oblivion and failed to fulfill the prodigious talents he showed prior to Holland 2005.

Taiwo did good. He had a better career in Europe than most of the 2005 Class. Mikel was their brightest and most successful.

I loved that 2005 team.

Onyekachi Apam was already one of the few World Class Talents at that U20 WC. A World Class Talent who didn't metamorphose into a top player or WC player because of Injuries.

Definitely was one of my favourites of the 2005 team.

You just reminded me of Hugo Lloris' words on Apam when still in Ligue 1. He said this...

"I played with many African players and it’s difficult to pick one. I remember the first one who really impressed me was … maybe you don’t know him, Onyekachi Apam,”
”He’s Nigerian and I played with him in Nice and he was just impressive. He was a central back and by that time he played… the first game he played was on the left side. He played left back, we played Marseille at home and at that time Ribery played on the right, and at the end of the game, he had to change his side because he could not beat him 1 v 1.
“And unfortunately, he had bad injuries and he could not follow the rhythm of professional football, unfortunately for him. He was really talented.”
