According to Voetbalkrant.com, Club Brugge refused to approve for Onyedika to switch to Turkey because then they would be forced to get a worthy replacement for the defensive midfielder.

Such a replacement will certainly not come cheap, but most importantly the transfer window in Belgium is closed and so they cannot do so.

Also, the registration for the UEFA Champions League closed last Wednesday.

So the earliest the Super Eagles midfielder could be allowed to move will be January, when the transfer window re-opens.

My own fault is the players not protesting the decision of the referee. He could have changed his mind if they protested. If he refused to and give yellow card, the card can be appealed after the match.

Except there is VAR check, referees don't change their mind after making a decision...

I don't get why CAF are yet to include VAR in the qualifiers....

I actually disagree with your view on Fisayo here. One place he shone for me yesterday was how he covered defensive gaps. He might not go haywire in pursuing opposition players with the ball but if you watch his movement, he always goes to block dangerous areas. This makes him important in defense.

I am not disputing Fisayo's movements, he is very good when it comes to getting into the right places to receive a pass.
I understand your fascination with Fisayo, Fisayo is built for the possession game. It is very clear.

However looking closely at the point you made "He always goes to block dangerous areas.
This is something that every outfield player does on the pitch, Fisayo is even one of the poorest when it comes to reading the opponents from a defensive point of view.

He always goes to block dangerous areas and yet couldn't intercept a single pass.

I pointed out his inability to create play the day we played Rwanda. Anyone can play one touch football ,all you need is communication. But Dele Bashiru is not that creative player we have been yearning for.

I haven't seen the Ojediran and Uche play. Until then, we don't have a reliable creative midfielder
Creative midfielders are a dying breed. It is the Kantesque type of midfielders that proliferates now. And it's such a big disappointment.

What Mikel said about Eguavoen

I know the interim manager now, Augustine Eguavoen who managed me when I was a kid. U17, he was my coach, took us to the World Cup.

"Fantastic guy, lovely guy, a manager who gives you all the freedom in the world to express yourself, speaks to you really well.

"He reminds me so much of Carlo Ancelotti, no jokes about that, his man management is top. He speaks to players really well. He is so humble. He communicates with players really well, puts his arm around you.

"He gets his players on his side, that's so important. You could see coming in short notice and getting the team to play so well. You can't teach them so much is such a short space of time.

"It's about the communication, it's about the man management of making the players so relaxed so they can perform and that's what I saw when I watched the game because the team performed really well, the first game, and also the second game. Of course we didn't win it but there was so much positivity.

"The team played really well yesterday and I thought we could have won the game."

Tell me which central attacking midfielder you know in any top club that plays the way you are yearning for?

Creative midfield is no more a one man show but a team work business.
Kante buried them pata pata, those creative midfielders.

This idea of playing as a team to the point where individual expression of brilliance is frowned up and gradually being stamped out is the reason why football is drab.

Imagine this draw with Rwanda was in a WCQ
The more we play them the better we get used to them... Now we know Rwanda GK is really good, that's an advantage... After playing both teams home and away for AFCON qualifiers... Beating them home and away shouldn't be so painstaking...
My thoughts tho😑

You can have all the creativity you want on the wings. That is enough to keep football exciting.

Not intercepting does not mean he did not get into position to help restrict offensive play of the opposition. He movement was nice and he got into good defensive positions. He had a good game.

You have spoken well.

And the fact is we have the tools to win at least four of our remaining matches weather home or away and get a draw, or even avoid defeat entirety. The momentum is also on our side currently.

The question is can AE utilize them well?
