BascoVanVeli: It is a modest club, they are just playing above themselves at the moment. Musa joined them when they were just promoted from the second division. He could not even break into the team then There is no guarantee that their form will last till the end. They are playing above themselves right now. |

Rohr Explains Why Watford Loanee Uche Agbo Is Crucial To His Squad Ahead Clash With Algeria As Nigeria get set to take on Algeria on the 12th of November in a World Cup 2018 qualifiers, coach of the Nigeria senior national team Gernot Rohr has revealed his admiration of Granada midfielder cum defender Uche Agbo. Agbo who was first called up by Rohr for the game against Zambia but didn’t get to play in the 2-1 away win in Ndola, was once again included in the list of players invited for the clash against Algeria. The 20 year old who can play in central defence and midfield has been ever present for Spanish La-Liga side Granada, where he has been on loan since the start of the season. His performance against Barcelona, where he played as a defensive midfielder one weeks ago, earned him praises from the manager despite his team losing 1-0 to the Catalan giants. “Agbo did very well against Barcelona (gallant Granada lost 1-0 at Camp Nou), where he played as a defensive midfielder,” he said. “I also like him because he can play in midfield and at centre back.” Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/11/06/rohr-explains-why-watford-loanee-uche-agbo-is-crucial-to-his-squad-ahead-clash-with-algeria/ 1 Like |

EAGLES BONUS FOR ZAMBIA WIN READY, NFF TO PAY ROHR 2 MONTHS' SALARY THIS WEEK Nigeria match winners in Zambia - Kelechi Iheanacho (left) and Alex Iwobi Super Eagles will get their win bonus of $5,000-a-man for the victory in Zambia last month, while coach Gernot Rohr will finally get his salary for two months’ this week. The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had promised the Eagles they will be paid their win bonus for the World Cup qualifier in Ndola before the match against Algeria. An Official informed: ”The Eagles bonus for the win in Zambia is ready and they will be paid before Saturday’s match against Algeria.” It was further gathered that the secrecy that has shrouded Rohr’s $47,000-a-month salary will be partly put to rest this week when he is paid for his first two months of work. The experienced Franco-German coach deflected a question regarding the payment of his salary during a press conference last month in Abuja before the match in Zambia. The former Gabon and Niger coach simply said it has never been in his place to discuss finances in public. “Rohr will be paid this week,” disclosed another top official. NFF president Amaju Pinnick has claimed he has secured a company to foot the bills of Rohr, but the identity of this sponsor remains a mystery even to Pinnick’s fellow NFF executive committee members. So, I watched part of the Federation Cup Final today...*purses lips*... I was not impressed Maybe I caught the teams at the wrong time, but the game was sloppy IMO. What is it with Nigerian players and aerial balls? Do they have some pact somewhere that stops them from just kicking the ball on the ground? I was genuinely put off by their style of play, in honesty, the only thing that impressed me in the half hour I watched were the surprisingly, good-looking guys on the pitch. At least we won't send players to the continent looking like the poster boys for hunger in Africa, unlike some countries..... Anyway, congrats to FC Ifeanyi Ubah, they've won the battle, now it's time to prepare for the war 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli:Ahmed Musa is a winger, he's not in contention for Ighalo's position, he had a por game today anyway, that McAully guy gave him hell. I'd play Ideye and Iheanacho up top together |

Goodmorning house. I wish you all a blessed week. I think, I would go with Ideye. Because, if ideye is not scoring, he is creating assist for others to score. I think Ighalo has this confidence issue right now. I would have love to see Isaac. 1 Like |

JOHN OWOERI GOAL KING IN SWEDEN WITH 17 GOALS John Owoeri - Top scorer in Sweden for 2016 Ex-Nigeria youth international John Owoeri has emerged the top scorer in Sweden for 2016 after he netted four times in Hacken's 7-0 bashing of Falkenbergs FF in the last game of the season. He thus ended the season with 17 goals as Hacken finished 10th on the table. Sebastian Andersson of Norrkoping and Vidar Om Kjartansson of Malmo finished behind Owoeri with 14 goals apiece. On Sunday, Owoeri scored in the 44th minute to give his side a 4-0 lead, he was then on target five minutes later to make it 5-0. He scored the other goals in the 53rd and 70th minutes. Another Nigerian, Hakeem Araba, played for Falkenbergs FF. Source: http://africanfootball.com//news/662180/John-Owoeri-Goal-King-in-Sweden-with-17-goals 1 Like |

Isaac Success indeed is a miss against Algeria but we gotta make do with either Ideye or Ighalo. So Sir Icons, if na u be coach, who u go pick between the two to start for the battle of uyo against Mahrez and his Algerian gang? We both know it's either of them for the starting role on Nov.12. ALGERIA WILL BE TOUGH BUT WE HOPE TO WIN - ROHR Super Eagles of Nigeria Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has admitted the Super Eagles face a very daunting task at home against Algeria on Saturday but they still hope to win to consolidate the leadership of their World Cup qualifying section. Nigeria welcome Algeria to Uyo Saturday in continuation of the qualifying series for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Last month, Nigeria opened their final qualifying round for Russia 2018 with a heart-warming 2-1 win in Zambia, while Algeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Cameroon at home. Rohr has a lot of respect for the North Africans, but he said the Eagles are pressed to win to stay on top of the group. “It will be difficult against Algeria because they are No.1 in Africa,” said Rohr on arrival in Nigeria from his base in France. “But we will try to beat them to have a good position in our qualifying group.” Nigeria will be without No.1 goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, but welcome back on-form Chelsea's Victor Moses, Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Germany-based defender Leon Balogun. The Eagles training camp for Saturday’s showdown will open in Abuja today with most of the call-ups due in from their foreign bases.
