102.1 FUFA fm Cranes News Latest News - October 26, 2018

International Friendly

Nigeria vs Uganda at Asaba Stadium

Tuesday 20th November 2018

FUFA has confirmed that an international friendly has been lined up for Uganda Cranes to play Nigeria Super Eagles at Asaba Stadium on Tuesday 20th November 2018.

The match will come three days after the 2019 Total Nations cup qualifier between Uganda Cranes and Cape Verde at Namboole stadium.

The latest development has been confirmed by the FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.

‘The Uganda Cranes technical team will make use of the FIFA International break that runs from 12th-20th November by playing a high profile friendly with the former African Champions. Matches between these two soccer giants have always been so close since time immemorial’ said Hussein.

‘A 30man contingent will depart on 18th November 2018 for the trip to Nigeria. The foreign based players in the contingent will then connect to their respective clubs after the friendly’ added Hussein

Both Nations will field National A men’s teams. The two teams last met in 2015 when Uganda Cranes edged the Super Eagles 1-0 at Ibo Akwa Stadium.

But komekn is right. You are prolly the only one who celebrates odey.

Saying a player should not have been invited does not constitute celebration. Odey gets mentioned more than those guys because he plays every week. Everytime I post about him people always say good things so I can't agree with anything you are saying

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr wants Lookman to ditch England for Nigeria
Gbenga Adewoye
13:46 26/10/2018

The Everton forward is eligible to play for the west Africans despite representing England at the youth level

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is hoping Ademola Lookman will switch allegiance to represent the Super Eagles.

The forward currently features for England at youth level and had them to win the U20 World Cup in 2017. However, he is still eligible to represent his parents' country, Nigeria.
The 21-year-old was impressive on loan with German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last season though he has struggled for game time since he joined Everton in 2017 from Charlton Athletic.

However, the 65-year-old gaffer is confident that the youngster will add value to his team, although, aware that the process can be tedious.

"He plays for the youth now but we hope he can change his mind and play for us," Rohr told BBC Sport.
"He's a player we know can add something to the team.
"Getting a player to change his national choice is not easy, quick and the process is never so straightforward.
"First we must be sure he wants to come. And hope to get it cleared by Fifa.
"Then the most important part is that he brings something new, different and better than we have."

With Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Henry Onyekuru and Samuel Kalu impressing on the wings, the German tactician is upbeat that the addition of the forward will give him more options upfront.

"Every coach wants options, we've been lucky to get some players and if we get him, Lookman will give us more options," he continued.

"But we have to be careful about how we go about this because Nigeria have some good players at home and playing outside."
Previously, the Nigeria Football Federation have successfully persuaded former England youth internationals Sone Aluko, Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina to play for the country.

Anyone have any idea as to why Tunisia is #1 in Africa and #22 in the world. Who have they faced in the AFCON qualifiers? How have they gotten so high in the rankings. Because, from what I remember, they did not play well at the world cup.

As long as Osimhen is doing his thing, I dont effing care about his team mates. Remember Onyekuru was in a similar situation at Eupen. Just as Onyekuru was the golden fish, so has Osimhen been so far, and shall remain till season end. In summery, my boy should use Charleroi as a launchpad, just as Onyekuru used Eupen.

you wan start again?
etebo as an AM?
it seems you've not been watching super eagles matches....
when has etebo performed as an AM?
sometimes some of US just wanna talk....

a player that can barely create space and make string passes upfront...
no doubt he is one of the best CM option we have in the super eagles...but as an AM...

How do u know Rohr doesn't rate him? Are u saying that as long as a player is not getting selected he is not rated by the coach? If u are then I don't agree because there are various reasons why a coach will not invite a player.
