I can see some people whining about Ighalo, somebody that still played about 2/3 weeks ago, not months o and he's resumed training ahead of tournament that will start in over one week time, what exactly is the problem there? players have knocks and they come back from it fully fit. I know weytin they pain some of una, it's because if he had been dropped your favorite boy would have been picked sorry Ighalo will start at Afcon and he'll surely bully Burundi

U shld knw dey re whining over d fact dt nacho was drop wyle he took an injured ighalo

Even to me,whether injured or not,@d moment an half fit ighalo is better dan nacho cool

Oscar Tabarez sets up his sides to be solid at the back and depends mostly on the pace and brilliance of his attackers. That's the way he sets up his team

Meaning Suarez will not be as explosive as he can be.

Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has resumed full training with the squad as the team continues preparations in Ismailia for the Africa Cup of Nations, AOIfootball.com reports.

The Shanghai Shenhua star forward has been out after sustaining a minor injury in Shenhua’s 1-1 draw against Tianjin Teda in a Chinese Super League encounter and missed the Super Eagles warm-up friendly against Zimbabwe last weekend in Asaba.

The forward had some training sessions with the team in Asaba but was not dressed for the warm-up clash against the Warriors which clearly indicated the coach was still allowing proper recovery. Ighalo had said he would not rush the recovery process in order to forestall a relapse.

The 29-year-old however completed full morning training routines with the whole squad for the first time in the camp at Ismailia after working with his personal physiotherapist and also undergoing some rehabilitation exercises towards recovery.

Ighalo’s return will come as a boost to the team as they vie for honours at the Nations Cup in Egypt.

I don't even want ighalo to be fit for any of the afcon matches so that Oshimen can be our top 9...who wants a repetition of the match against Argentina?

oshimen is more clinical and a better finisher than the old player from China who can miss a seater..anytime.

abeg...may una relax joor this is a blessing in disguise.
Oshimen should be our 9

Iheanacho was already in camp. Ighalo's name was on the list when he was not fit. His place should have gone to another. Now we have to hope he is fit for the tournament which does not add up for me.

shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

I hope Rohr is not gambling with the decision to take injured Ighalo to AFCON?

The guy just completed his recovery today. Chineke meeeee. shocked shocked shocked

So, Rohr was planning to drop an inform Osimhen before now. shocked Someone who was the best Nigerian striker in Europe for that matter!? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

I am beginning to think Rohr wants to destroy our football ni.

Now, that was why Rohr took both Onuachu and Osimhen, just in case Ighalo didn't recover early enough or his injury relapses.

Sincerely, I am not raising this red flag because of Iheanacho. I am only concerned we are going to the AFCON with an unfit striker.

Well, I may not know the extent or degree of the "knock" he received, but what I know is regaining full fitness for games takes a recovery process which can run into days or weeks. And so if you rush back that player too early the injury may relapse. So that means Ighalo will only be involved in light trainings for now. But would he have been fully fit before the game against Burundi?

Which conspiracies? Ighalo is not fit. Simple.

Let us pray and hope his physiotherapist and the medical crew of the Super Eagles get him ready for the tournament. He just resumed full training yesterday.

If Ighalo does not regain full fitness before the tournament or during the tournament, I hope Rohr does not gamble to play him.

It is unfortunate that Ighalo could not even be tested during the friendlies. I hope Rohr is ruthless and only play those with full fitness. Either way, I am not happy with the process. It is the AFCON we are talking about, not some qualifiers.

I'm still dancing but you on the other hand you are not dancing and that will definitely stagnant your physical condition coupled with your incessant wailing about Iheanacho Nacho mbappe better than kylian Kelechi who won't be the at the African Nations cup so you can keep crying for brother man but Iheanacho Nacho mbappe better than kylian Kelechi has gotten his ass dropped after you told us how Rodgers would turn him to a 1000 goal an appearance player ...Take your L

Folks here really surprise me. We should all know Rohr by now. He has absolute faith in some players and believes in rewarding those who worked. Ighalo had a slight knock and should be fine before the match against Burundi. Barring that , we have an embarrassment of options in the squad. Will not be surprised to see Shehu start against Senegal or Burundi. That's Rohr for you. Make we manage am.

Lol. Let him make it out of group stage first... And take each game at it comes...

We can make it far if the team didn't underrate and work together as a whole.

There is no noise anywhere... If you read my previous post you will see where I reported he is back in training... He trained with rest of the boys on Thursday... So where is the noise. The point is he wasn't fit bfr the list was released that was the outcry and that is the major reason of taking paul and victor incase of unforeseen circumstances.

The first are second games are still AFCON games and going short is not a good way to begin the competition.

We can only pray for quick recovery.

Pls sir, their is Osihmen & Paul. Are they no longer trusted?? Meanwhile let's pray for even the fit players cos they can still be ruled out of d tournament from d 1st game & the unfit one will recover & finish strongly.
Medics have said he will be ready. He is used to d African game, others re rookies to African type of football, I really see no wrong in d coaching crew keeping faith with him.

People are funny, so you will drop AFCON qualifiers highest goal scorer because of a knock that would heal a week to the tournament. Lol.
However, they are clamouring for someone without a single goal for the national team in 2years to be selected.

Josh Maja is still quite young. I feel he will come good at Bordeaux. He will now have the opportunity of a full preseason with the team.
