This is cheating!
Why the postponement then.
Why fixed the match outside the FIFA calendar.
It's well known that the Sudanese league is far better than our league and majority of their players are based at home.
It will be cruel if one of the best under 23 team in the world failed to participate at the Olympics.

Even the Olympics isn't in the FIFA calendar... there's no cheating here. the game was postponed so it won't clash with the AFCON.. Even European u-21 tournaments aren't in the FIFA calendar though it takes place when club football is on break but that's because it's convenient for the Europeans...

We won the last u-23 AFCON with a squad filled with home based players so I don't see why we can't qualify for the next one...and if our local players can't beat Sudan, then we have no business calling ourselves Africa's football powerhouse.

The only reason we won the AFCOn in 2015 was Emmanuel Daniel, the Gk and Etebo. Daniel saved our butt in most games.

Where are all those home based players? Etebo is the only one to come out from that tournament. Awoniyi, Junior Ajayi and Azubuike were already foreign based by then. Osimhen just finished under 17.

My post wasn't about where they are now...it's about how they got the job done!! players come and go... Those Algerian boys that made it to the final too, where are they?

No need to rely on foreign based players for the game if we aren't sure of their availability...

My point is that we had plenty of luck to get that far. We were not that good.

It is understandable that local based are called for this one but there is no guarantee, we will make it.

Our home based players are trash tbt!
However, we have some exciting talents at this level playing in some of the best league in the world so we presenting the home based guys means we're not presenting our best whereas the Sudanese will field their best cos all their guys are based at home.

This is not about any power house, it's about having the opportunity to field your best!
Simple!!

No one has said anything about the £30m bid by Everton for Iwobi. I wonder how high they are willing to go for him.

Leganes defender Dimitrios Siovas has announced the signing of Kenneth Omeruo.

Siovas has confirmed Chelsea defender Omeruo has signed for Leganes and will return to the club in the next few days.

Omeruo will sign a contract until 2024 and Leganes are expected to pay Chelsea a transfer fee in the region of €4.5m to complete the deal.

Shortly after Siovas posted an image on Instagram announcing the deal, the Greek defender removed it with official details not yet decided.

Omeruo enjoyed an impressive loan with Leganes last season

Does anyone know about Noah Okafor who plays for Basel in Switzerland? Just saw him as he was introduced in their Champions league match yesterday... A good payer in MF
He's about 20 years old- A midfielder. And has only represented Switzerland in junior levels. Elidible to play for Nigeria as his father is Nigerian.

I'm amazed he's never been mentioned here

But now the NFF is planning using the U20 team for the All African Games. This ought to have been the building ground for the home based U23 team.

When that qualifiers against Sudan draws near now they will hurriedly assemble a group of homebased U23 players and expect a miracle from them.

What is the rationale behind using an U20 team to prosecute an U23 competition? Not even that the team is that talented.

Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have disclosed that the Super Eagles will host Benin Republic in an opening 2021 AFCON qualifier in Benin City.

The Super Eagles host Benin on November 11.

The three-time African champions are drawn in a qualifying group, which also has Lesotho and Sierra Leone, with the top two teams advancing to the tournament proper in Cameroon.

The Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City was the home ground for the country’s U20 women’s team to qualify for last year’s U20 Women’s World Cup in France.

It has an artificial pitch.

The Eagles have recently played their home games in Asaba and Uyo.

Welcome to my humble home Super Eagles grin

I think considering the way Iwobi plays and the wings options at Everton this would be a good move if it actually sails through.

I was the guy that covered the match here, he was introduced late in the match. Too bad that misfortune called Aigbogun overlooked him after the boy openly declared earlier this year, that he was into Nigeria and would honor any call up from the youth set ups through the main team(the super eagles)
