To think that Zambia sacrificed their AFCON qualifying games to get their best U23 players for these Olympics qualifying games. Hope they don't lose on both sides. grin

Chriskels will say, "This man has come again! Giving excuses in case we get a draw... Chriskels and Rohr matter na 5 & 6 grin

Rohr on the Benin Afcon Game:

"Recently, we played games against great teams but not African teams. Brazil & Ukraine played offensively so we had space & our pacy wingers enjoyed it.

''It won't be the same tomorrow cos Benin are defensive so it will be dangerous to think it will be an easy game."

I don't know if Awo will leave after the 19th depending on what the Crew discussed with Mainz concerning him. He doesn't really get to play that much for them so I think they can do without him till the 22nd.

But Zubby will return to Istanbul BB after the 19th.

So after SA game zuby will leave ?

Isnt it interesting that all of a sudden you developed aversion to stats...smh. However, I noticed something peculiar with many Yorubas. You guys are quick to pull the "Lagos" card. I don't even want to get into the bogus claim you made because it's evident you are shifting grounds...lol.

If you want to make your usual brag that has no modicum of facts do it with your village people...we have a lot of learned and wise people here. But ,let me engage you a little bit....the marginal success of Lagos is not as a result of the Yoruba man's intelligence and ingenuity. Lagos profited primarily because of its location and suitability. You seem a bit educated but you lack exposure.

What aversion to stats? So, tell me what stats is different from what I stated?

Abeg! You have just said nothing.

OMANBALA1:

I saw mostly the first half.
The defense was a bit jittery in the first minutes due to little time to gell and changes made. Olisa Nda and Mukairu were changed for Ozonwafor and Seth. They grew into the game and assumed great confidence. The department was the most improved.

The midfielder of Azubike and Nwakali also struggled ,especially , centrally and attack-wise. Azubike was full of battle as usual with his pinpoint crosses, blocks and tackles...the boy is a very confident player that can literally play anywhere in the midfield. Nwakali struggled because of little game time but we must not throw the bad water away with the baby in it. He scored a lovely free kick like he always do and his confidence and vision grew. He started doing his trademark passes and crosses....Nwakali is a bundle of talent and he does it so effortlessly. However, Nwakali is far from fitness and it showed because an inform Nwakali can singlehandedly destroy any team from the midfield position...It comes to him naturally.

The attack is sorry...Orji Okonkwo, though, scored yet didn't show signs of a great finisher. As for Awoniyi, he knows he didn't have a great game.

The best and sincere analysis i have seen today

No double standard here

Just watched the second half a little bit. Anyway, congrats to our boys.

As soon as I saw Nwakali about to take the freekick, I thought to myself, it's a goal and it happened. But I didn't really get to see him well.

No. He will likely leave after the Semi finals game if (more preferably, when) we qualify. The Semis take place on same day international break officially closed.. the 19th... and Egypt to Turkey(vice versa) travels are less than 2hours I think.

how many teams to qualify from each group? if the team makes it to the next round does that mean they have qualified automatically for the olympics?

I want to believe that you have been responded to but as a recap, the below applies :

1. The top 2 Teams from group A and B qualifies for the Semi finals.

2. Only 3 Teams are expected from AFRICA for Tokyo 2020 OLYMPICS

3. The 2 winners of the Semi finals fixtures qualifies automatically

4. The winner of the 3rd place match between the Semi final loosers also qualify as the 3rd and final Team for the OLYMPICS

So, There is so much at stake for NIGERIA in the next 2 matches of the U 23 AFCON Nations CUP as victories in them takes us to the OLYMPICS.

A further victory in the 3rd and final match sees us retain Our U 23 champions status since we are presently the defending champions.

My take on the match......
It is amazing an unfit Nwakali can still put up such performance against Almighty Mwepu and Lionel christiano daka. Lolz. Though, he has some lapses during the game like failing to trap a pass, and giving out faulty passes but I am more impressed with his movement, techniques and the way he drops to empty space to receive pass. I have a feeling he has got some serious shot inside his boot. And ,I knew he would scored that FK right from the moment it was given to us
All in all, he need to fix his club career ASAP ..we need him in the SE.

Oh my, the way Awo dey hold up ball eh ... so beautiful. And his goal was fantastic
Zubby did great

Orji played well but he didn't get enough service. His goal too was a beauty...nice movement.
Faleye sef .... his performance is confusing

Anytime, Zambia tried those long balls, I no dey shake. Why? we have got Ozonwafor . The FBs did great but that #5 na suspect.. poor ball clearance.
All in all,I enjoyed the match. Imama will make a good choir master sha ..dude was doing praise and worship after the third goal ..Lolz.

BTW, I don't like using foul words but That ref is MAD. poor officiating.

The best players from the Nigerian team were Orji and Ndifreke. Ndifreke, just based on effort. Orji looked like the only player that could make something happen upfront.

Defense struggled in the first half but were better in the second half. The left back looks interesting.

Azubuike had an ok game. Not to the level of his hype though.

The goalie did well when called into action.

Who else?

Surprisingly, the goalie impressed me. I was very impressed, really impressed. That's definitely one to look out for.

While the international break elapses after mid-Next week.
