Yes. I pointed it out before the coach when I dropped my review. People were arguing until the coach confirmed it and later a journalist. He singled Iheanacho out.

the same coach that has been sacked? Top analysts told you that it was our midfield that won the game(bar Onazi) and you are pointing at one poor coach with no pedigree

Against Algeria... Kelechi was the reason the Algerian defence was oftentimes drawn out of line...

The Victor Moses first goal... Kelechi was right there in the box and two Algerian defenders were slightly drawn in his direction and also confused about Whether Moses will pass or shoot. Moses initially chose to pass to Nacho which is why Mandi got a slight touch on the ball which didnt clear properly... then that gave way for moses to pull off the shot.

What few saw what Nacho's movements causing problems in the box.

The Victor moses second goal...... Nacho again drew two defenders with him which made musa's pass drop kindly for moses at the far post to slot home.

Nacho had a quiet game against Algeria and had one sight of goal which he missed by side-shooting over but his positioning and pressing on the day was very good....

tbaba1234:

Kelechi is an overall better player but he is not a better presser than Kayode.

The goal we scored against Senegal was due to Kayode's pressing.

Kelechi was poor against Algeria. He made some positive runs but there was nothing great about his pressing game.

watch that game again, most of the balls we won were in the midfield, Nacho's pressing 'looked' effective because of Mikel's intelligent positioning. Nacho pressed against Algeria but even in the short cameo against Senegal, Kayode showed that he could press even more

Story. Iheanacho made it difficult for the defensive players by pressing and he made it difficult for the defenders to concentrate with his brilliant runs and you are talking midfield positioning. Na wa. Fear God small.

Do you not know it takes Stamina and fitness to press more. A less fit player and player with less stamina can not press more. Shaking my head.

You do not know that no matter how much the midfield wins the ball, it takes a god conversion to win the game. Keep talking midfield. Abi midfield scored Hat trick.

Do you not know that when the pressing is good, it makes build-up plays of the opponents difficult and makes winning the ball in the midfield easier?

but they were building from the back easily. If not for Etebo's workrate and again, Mikel's great positioning at all times we wouldn't have dominated the middle, not some pressing by Nacho

Movement not pressing, two different things.

His movement was the most positive thing. His control, pressing and other parts of his game were not great.

All this one is just argument. Rohr had looked at both of them in camp and without game time, Nacho stood out. He was the fitter one. One of the most fit.

People are talking like if Kayode goes to City, he will bench Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:32pm On Apr 29, 2017
His pressing was great... or lemme be more specific... was good .... he disturbed the Algerian back line and prevented often times their smooth and calculative build-ups from the back... Nacho's runnings troubled and destabilized to a good extent the Algerian back line in their buildup plays... he didnt let them rest...

How was his control poor? When he was surrounded by and closed in upon by about three Algerian markers, and was still able to pull off the pass to Iwobi that made Iwobi do that rainbow flick.... (a little after the ref called for a foul on nacho)

Nacho did good even on the few times he had the ball. And He started the buildup to our second goal when he had the presence of mind to cut back to Iwobi after he was closed down by his Algerian marker....

Like I said... Nacho had a quiet game. He wasn't spectacular but his movements, pressing and few times he was on the ball was good....

Iheanacho was full of running and my defenders couldn’t handle him. The space he created by dragging them was what allowed Victor Moses the chance to score twice” Coach of the Algerian team Georges Leekens said at the post match conference.

It is so simple. Iheanacho is the better player. That is why I have a simple rule. Play the better player. Check in camp and find the better player. Simple.

This is a perfect case of why I will continue criticising all those game time critiques. It is an excuse to drop the better player. You can see it here.

Olarenwaju Kayode Fires Brace To Take Goal Tally To 20 For The Season

Newly capped Super Eagles forward Olarenwaju Kayode continued his fine form in front of goal for Austria Wien by scoring two of the four goals that gave them a 4-1 win over Sturm Graz.

Kayode struck his goals within a space of three minutes in the 54th and 57th minutes respectively to take his goals in the league to 13, and overall he now has 20 goals this season in all competitions.

The soon to be 24 year old scored five goals in the Europa League, and also has two goals to his name in the domestic cup. Becoming one of the few players to have netted for the team in all competition this season.

Already a senior international for Nigeria following his debut against Senegal last month in a friendly, he will most likely make the squad for the get together in France next month.

Comfortable as a winger or main striker, he is enjoying his most prolific season since moving to Europe four seasons ago. Although he has maintained his impressive tally of 13 league goals the last three consecutive season.

Agbo In Action As Granada Are Relegated From LaLiga

Nigeria defender Uche Agbo and his Spanish LaLiga club have been relegated to the Spanish second division (LaLiga 1/2/3), Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Granada’s relegation was confirmed following their 2-1 away loss to Real Sociedad on Saturday.

Agbo was in action for Granada in the game and played 90 minutes.

Needing an outright win to keep alive their slim hope of avoiding the drop, Granada who only recently appointed Arsenal legend Tony Adams as their new manager, went a goal down courtesy of a 45th minute goal by former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela.

In the 65th minute, Granada were back on level terms thanks to Adrian Ramos’ equaliser.

Granada’s hope of surviving relegation was finally sealed following an 84th minute goal by Juanmi.

The defeat leaves Granada on 20 points, 10 points away from safety with three games remaining.

Granada’s relegation ends a six-season spell in the top flight.

They play Real Madrid at home in their next match on Saturday, 6 May.

Granada once paraded Nigerian strikers Odion Ighalo and Isaac Success.

Ndidi Shines , Musa Dropped As Leicester Win ; Anichebe ’ s Sunderland Relegated
By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was in action in Leicester City's 1-0 Premier League win against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday while Ahmed Musa was not listed by manager Craig Shakespeare, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Jamie Vardy scored the game's only goal.

Ndidi got an early chance to put the Foxes ahead in the seventh minute when he received a good pass just outside the box, unleashed a strike from a promising position, but the shot was blocked for a corner.

The Nigerian shrugged off the challenge of Johny Evans in the 43rd minute to fire a left-footed shot. Vardy scored shortly afterwards as he latched on to a pass on the edge of the box to place a perfect strike that went behind the goalkeeper for his 15th goal of the season.

The game was Ndidi's 13th of the season in the Premier League.

At the Stadium of Light Sunderland's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed following their 1-0 defeat in the hands of Bournemouth.

A Josh King goal in the 88th minute condemned David Moyes' side to Championship football next season after narrow escapes in recent seasons.

Nigeria's Victor Anichebe whose contract expires in the summer played all 90 minutes on Saturday and was presented with a chance to score in the 45th minute but the Bournemouth defence dealt with the danger.

The former West Bromwich Albion striker was a constant worry for the Bournemouth defence. Sunderland's woes were made worse as Hull City's goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic saved a late penalty against Southampton at Saint Mary's.

The Cherries climbed to 10th place with 41 points, while Sunderland, without a win in their last 10 games prior, are bottom with 21 points from 34 games, 13 points off 17th-placed Hull City.

Too much over critiques when it comes to Nacho.... it the job of some of us to show you where he excelled... Chikena.

Bad game indeed... and he got the modestly good reviews from Leekens and some football journalists on his movements and pressings which twice drew the Algerian defenders out of position and resulted in Moses scoring.

If they had said otherwise.... una go hold on to am as points to crucify Iheanacho.

Iheanacho was not poor against Algeria but was just quiet but still contributed his bits. As simple as that.
