thanks for your answer@bellong,please amongst Vetassess and Aitsl, which assement is more sure.

Aitsl requirments for teacher is tough

but

Vetassess is okay .

Also i hope secondary teacher and regional education manager are related jobs . thanks in anticipation

I can't say specifically which is easier. VETASSES has its issues too. The decision is strictly yours.

Mamajaz,

In addition to what was said you need to be registered with ANMAC first

Do you have experience in accounting at all? With what you wrote, you stand a better chance with your accounting than training and development. If you have experience in occupational health too, it is good, only that you will strife harder to get more points as the occupation requires a diploma which is 10points.

Yes I have less than 10 months work experience in an Accounting field, more years experience in administration and training.
You feel the work experience and using my degree could work?
I'll also like to know how you knew Diploma is needed for the Training and development.
Thanks boss

This is where you do a thorough study. Use the occupation code to search the job descriptions and requirements of each occupation on ANZSCO website.

After doing that, you will be able to arrive at which to follow.

Skills Occupation List with the corresponding Assessing Authorities

I think Bellong already explained the general process. Nursing is on SOL and CSOL for most states. Your assessing body is ANMAC . You are required to have 7.0 or equivalent in all bands In IELTS for Registered Nurse category. Check the ANMAC website for more details. The SOL link is

https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/SOL

ANMAC: http://www.anmac.org.au

If you are considering state nomination, I advise you contact the state directly as it is somewhat faster. Check the CSOL of each state/territory.
Thank you so much. Am feeling

If you didn't, was it requested of you later on ?

^^^^ If you have travelled out of Nigeria before, you probably will be asked. If you have no prior travelling experience, you may not be asked.

However, to speed things up and reduce the time taken to be asked and then processed, it is advised that you frontload them and all other including medicals and PCC.

Thanks so much to the concerned people in this group, Oga bellong, Oga scroll... na gode sose.
Please I have tried severally to open the SOL and CSOL links to no avail since yesterday. I and my hubby are both nurses With more than 10years experience and will want to give it a trial. Please what do you advise we do now.
Am becoming anxious that page does not open anytime I try it.

As a nurse with a degree from a Nigerian university, you will need to do a transition course of at least 3mths. This transition course will be done at a University in Australia.

It might be more than 3mths though. When you submit your documents to ANMAC, they will advise you of which stream you qualify for...3mths, 6mths or 1yr.

Great work you are doing on here Bellong.

I am a Nigerian lawyer with first and postgraduate degrees from the UK. Also presently doing a PhD in Law in London.I am in the second year and should finish next year.

Could get a UK passport in 3 years, but want to sort residence for family within a year and return to Naija to chase political dreams.

I have taught in secondary schools part-time for years in Nigeria and here in England too.

Got an invitation to apply that expired within few weeks because I forgot my login details used over a year ago.

Have seen the assessment bodies for solicitor and teaching.

From your experience bellong, which route do you advise I take?Teaching or Solicitor?

Have read both requirements, but what are the most critical requirements for the teaching route?

FOR PROSPECTIVE MIGRANTS WHO INTEND TO USE ACS

Find below an email which I received in response to my enquiry last month. summary: 10 years of experience in one company , and one ACS qualification will not qualify you for a positive response, BUT 1 ACS qualification plus work experience in 7 or more different companies should qualify you! strange, but that's what I deduced from their response.

My 1st mail to them
Good Morning,

Kindly advise on how the required 8 episodes are calculate, e.g is 1 year of employment equivalent to 1 episode? I have an ICT(MAJOR) related 4 years Bsc (hons) with 10 years of experience in the last 10 years, would this be 11 episodes?

or is it a clear cut case of the under listed excerpt

Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Major  If your degree is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 2 years relevant work experience completed within the past 10 years or 4 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria.

Thanks

Thank you for your email,

All skills assessment fees will include a total of 8 assessment episodes per application.

An assessment episode can be either qualification or employment documentation.

For example, you can submit 3 qualifications and 5 employment episodes or 8 employment episodes in total or any combination of qualifications and employment episodes numbering 8 assessment episodes per application.

If you have 10 years of experience all from within the 1 company this is 1 episode, if your 10 years of experience is from 10 different companies in total this is 10 episodes.

A $50 fee will apply for each additional qualification or employment episodes that exceeds a maximum of 8 assessment episodes per application

If you have any further questions please let us know.

Regards,
Bessie

MY SECOND RESPONSE

Many thanks for the explicit response.
Kindly clarify if episodes relates to the number of companies one has worked in ,per year or otherwise

E.g 6 months in company A, 1 year in company B , 3 months in company C will that be 3 episodes? Or just one episode ( company B - 1year) ?

Ehya, I learnt about the cutting down of years of experience too by the assessing bodies. Please, do they give reasons or something.
I will advise you to take another English language test to make ur 60 points.
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by hallly: 10:13am On Apr 20, 2016
What they mean is that, the 500 aus dollar paid as the application fee only covers 8 episodes of both qualifications and employment. i.e accessing ur bsc is one episode, 10 yrs of experience in one company is one episode, 8 yrs in 7 different companies is 7 episodes. Hence if all your documents exceed 8 episodes, then you have to pay an additional 50 can dollar per each episode.

The number of episodes you submit does not determine if you will receive a a +ve accessment or not.

Tunai, I have no idea about PTE. You probably may get someone to answer it.

@Apolonius,

You will be better off with the solicitor. I think the law society in Australia gives preference for UK qualified legal professionals. The teaching will be a long thing as the body responsible will want you to have a teaching qualification.

I read something about registering as a lawyer for foreign qualified lawyers, I should still have the documents in my system. There is a different assessment rating for UK qualified people.

@babadol,

CDR is what EA uses to assess people's skills. It is strictly about writing on a project you have carried out in your claim occupation. There is a guide/template on how to write it on their website.

It is not anything difficult.

timikenzo2,

You should rewrite the English test, better that way.

I was doing some research for a friend that's a vet. On the AVBC website it talks about recognized schs in some countries and Nigeria isn't there, does it mean that those who studied in Nigeria won't even be able to write the exam not to talk of getting assessed? Because according to a checklist, if u cant answer "yes" that your qualification is on the list of generally recognized qualifications u cant be assessed. Please if u have any idea about vets point me in the right direction.

On the pearsonpte website, locate the centre you would like to take your exam then call or email the provided contact(s) to purchase a voucher; this can be paid for either at the bank or via an online transfer- whichever suits you.

Once you get the code sent to you from the centre, use it to schedule your exam on the website.

No. It means graduates of those schools do not need to write an examination. Graduates of Vet from schools not listed there, have to put in a request for the exam by submitting a couple of documents and paying the fee. Once they are assessed as qualified to write the exam, they will be given the go ahead.

The exam is in 2 phases....basically theory and practical....but at different times. Once you pass both components, you are then eligible to register, which in turn makes you eligible for a skill assessment.

Skill assessment is what is required at the visa application stage.

People have gotten their desired/better scores with PTE, after doing IELTS. You can try it.

As for funds requirement, see if it says cash only on the website or you can contact them directly.

1. Yes you can enter before the primary applicant. The privileges are the same...no difference at all. The visas are independent of each other, once approved.

2. I know the visa fees have been increased. But for 2 adults and 2 kids in 2014, the total was about A$6,300. Exchange rate fluctuates between 130-140 naira to 1 AU$.

3. The permanent residency visa is a bit tricky. I will just list out the points.
a. The visa itself is valid for 5yrs, if you intend travelling in and out. But at the same time, you can live in Aus indefinitely on the same visa, if you don't intend travelling out of the country.
b. If you intend travelling out and returning to the country after the 5yrs is up, and you don't have citizenship, you will need a RRV (Resident Return Visa). It is advisable to get it onshore before leaving. It takes just 1-2days if onshore, but up to a week if offshore.
c. But, to qualify for a RRV, you must have stayed a total of 2 years (it can be a combination of different short stays) during the 5yr period.
d. There are some exceptional circumstances where a stay of less than 2yrs can be accepted.
e. You have to validate your visa within 1yr of medicals and/or pcc.
