Imagine this!
These people will stop at nothing to ridicule this government.

Shame on those that want the Federal Government to sell our refineries.

Shame on those that said our refineries was never going to work.

Shame on those that want us to keep importing from their foreign refineries.

This same cabal frustrated and stopped Jonathan.

They will be crushed soon. I believe in Buhari.

how soon?
dont forget soon can be long term too. 100yrs na soon, vision 2020 was enacted in the 90s n it was tagged soon.

how truck go leave lagos then divert to chad n cameroon that is up north.
which kind diverting tactics be dis na?

Frustration: I've been screaming this from forever that we do not consume the 40m litres/day . . . everyone knows that (30% of our PMS is smuggled to neighbouring countries), why the template is still based on 40m litres a day is beyond me, when we have a customs service, and many unemployed youths looking for jobs.

Is it harder/more expensive for the customs service to employ these youths to secure our borders, than paying 'hard-scarce-forex' for 10 million litres to these 'etranger' who don't even respect us everyday!!!? Or is this a silent agreement between the NNPC and FG and these neighbouring countries?

When I keep hammering that we will not progress or move forward without working refineries and pipelines, it seems like some exaggeration, but it is what it is, because without pipeline vandals and with working refineries, we would have stable power supply and would not need more than 20 million litres of PMS a day, which our refineries in full throttle can match.

20 million litres of PMS (not to mention AGO and DPK) wasted on 'gen' and neighbouring countries everyday in Forex, is equivalent to roughly the same amount of Forex the whole country uses in purchasing rice, palm oil, toothpick, Prada, Gucci, cars, cloths, and e.t.c.

Doing the math: if we can chalk-off silly imports like palm oil, eggs, rice, and some other stuffs, and also chalk-off over 20 million litres of petroleum products', get the present working refineries up to 50-70%, that technically erases almost 50% of our Forex demands!

One stone kills 3 birds: stable electricity breeds production, exports, and more Forex inflow.

Verdict: Coupled with smart monetary policies, the Naira will trade at below N160 to a dollar regardless of oil prices!

Wholly, we need better border control. I expect by now the DG of customs is at Aso Rock facing the president. What are his plans for more efficient border policing?

Ditto Immigration, they have a role to play too. The presence and use of technology -- biometric, CCTV, body cams at border patrol is sacrosanct now. We want to know everything and everyone coming in and going out. From Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, smugglers to other private and government thieves. We need to curb this nonsense.

NNPC for one should stop this middlemen business it is encouraging between major marketers and independent marketers. We need to know who to hold responsible and at this time the bulk stops at Kachikwu's table.

NNPC should also put tracking devices on tankers loading from their depots. Tracking devices are government property and tampering or removing them is a crime.

Every truck that is sent from the depot must also be signed for at its destination.

There must be a time it takes for products to be delivered. Spending more time should raise a flag.

Owners of tankers must maintain a minimum standard and must be aware they're liable for the conduct of their employees.

Kachikwu should please start building more pipelines. We have too many tankers on Nigerian roads.

And what about the trains. Can't the ones we have today hurl cargo?

GenOrumov:
That some people don't see some truth in what he said is baffling. Let me educate you....

Haven't you noticed that Lagos and Abuja are probably the only states you can get fuel at the approved pump price of 86.50? It is well known that fuel in other states apart from these two is sold for 200 and above. Why this is so is because majority of the filling stations in these states are owned by small marketers who go by the names of "Tolad oil and gas, Damask Petroleum, Ifeanyi Oil, Tunde Petroleum, Mallo Oil etc. while you find more of the presence of the big boys in the names of "MRS, Forte Oil, Mobil, Total, Conoil etc." in Lagos and Abuja. These big boys get their own supply from NNPC while these small marketers get it from these big boys more than 76.50 approved by DPR. Since they buy it at above 76.50 (say 90 naira) how do you expect them to now sell at 86.50. Also factor in transportation cost from Lagos, bribing of police, paying of entitlement fee to omo onile, garage fees, and other cost incurred while transporting the fuel to the hinterlands. Obviously they won't sell at govt. approved price of 86.50 but higher.

Therefore fuel meant for filling stations in Lagos are diverted to other states where they can sell well above the approved pump price (130 and above) because they know the DPR is short of men to conduct checks and balances and may therefore find it hard to visit filling stations in remote areas. Even when DPR officials manage to come, they are bribed to turn a blind eye to their atrocities.

The solution to this sharp practice and price disparity is for government to totally hands off setting of pump prices(total deregulation). You cannot expect fuel to be he same price in Lagos where the ships with the fuel birthed and Borno that it takes almost more than 24 hours to get to from Lagos because of the transportation and associated costs mentioned above. Also, all our refineries must be working at 100 percent capacity so that instead of transporting fuel from Lagos to other States, Kaduna refinery will serve the whole North, Port Harcourt refinery will serve SS and SE while Warri can serve SW AND parts of SS and SE.

NOTE: If any NNPC petrol station doesn't sell fuel in 48 hours in Lagos and 72 hours in other states after they must have sold off the last drop of the last allocation they got, know that the fuel has been diverted.
We all know this, but why in this regime we are having these excuses, during the 16yrs of PDP, fuel was available in every filling station for you to just drive in and buy.
But our Petroleum Minister and his Assistant under APC is giving us nothing but excuses. The masses don't care how you do your job, what we are expecting is good result.
