back to d matter.. An average citizen in a developed country prefer to buy phones on contract than importing from a gray site... Thinz like warranty and official presence of an oem in dia immediate environment is paramount to their need
So robots are buying phones on AliExpress from various countries that we even need translators to understand their comments...i learn everyday....besides, how many developed countries do we have? Sincere question.

We're all learning. As some folks have kindly pointed out (@Gptech, @fibonnacci), the Chinese Redmi Note 5 is the one you should concern yourself with.
Chinese Redmi Note 5 = Indian Redmi Note 5 pro.
India got the Redmi note 5 pro, while China and the rest of the world got the Redmi note 5.
Also, as @unite4real alluded to, this new 18:9 screen aspect ratio enables manufacturers to fit bigger screens into smaller frames. The 5.99" 18:9 Redmi note 5 (158.6 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm) is only slightly longer than the 5.5" 16:9 Redmi note 4 (151 x 76 x 8.5 mm). The note 5 is infact thinner, and not as wide as the note 4.

Like i said before, i am not concerned about the note 5 or its variants especially because of their screen size, length, thickness and weight.

I specifically asked about Mi5 and Redmi 5.

Who else is experiencing slow internet on redmi 5 plus? The max speed I get on my phone with Ntel 4g is 200KBps, meanwhile I get up to 3MBps on both my Lenovo phone and mifi.

To reply you.. I have used iPhone all the way from the days of Iphone 4-6s+.. And I must tell you at the rate iPhone is for now.. I would happily trade my iPhone for an android like Samsung, OnePlus and the rest.. Apple IOS is just over optimized.. Imagine iPhone 6s Plus having a bat3 cap of 1715Mah and 2gb ram for a phone 100k SMH.. Though you pretty right about the pricing... Which OEM would release a phone with specs like that of Redmi note 5 and sell if below 100K.. Even tecno and infinix crap would sell over the 100k mark (NO bad blood to tecno/infinix users)

People that use iPhones and Samsung should just be upgrading every 2 years.

On S7 Edge, the lag people are facing now is mad, same as iPhone 6S. Any above average mid-range phone from 2018 can best them.

There's so much throttling with smartphone flagships from the previous years, i hope this stops.

True. It's the smarter way to spend in a country that allows for it. Your quality of life would obviously be better if you paid for everything in contract e.g car, house, school fees e.t.c.

Truth is some brand of smartphones cost more not because they offer more value but because you are paying for the logo at the back of the phone grin

They have made a name for themselves over the years and feel you should pay more because of the name.
It's like buying a bottle of coke opposite your house for N150 and buying the same coke at a hotel in the next street for N800!!! grin.

BeardedTraveler, bought his from Ebay.com (approximately N5K)

Thanks. Does that 5k covers shipping, I mean total cost.
