It's cuz of your netw. That's why some of us advised that major updates should always be downloaded manually using download manager. If there's 4G coverage there, lock your netw to 4G and enjoy, otherwise, download manually.

I successfully downloaded the rim package via OTA, decryption was successfully then I was got a prompt to reboot my phone which I did but got an error "install update zip Failed" error applying update.

NB: My device is Unlocked but not rooted.

I rebooted my device again and saw the attached image

same experience, but I downloaded the OTA full rom from 'bigota' and install manually on my redmi7. you can try manual update.
