Of late I have read several infantile threats to the poor civillians of the niger-delta by some of the pro-APC or hausa-ulani/yoruba peeps on this forumn that if the Avengers keeps up with their bombings,a re-enactment of the massacre of innocent civillians in odi would be visited upon them.

I laugh at the cowardice of these peeps!! First and foremost what was the objective of the odi massacre? Were those objectives achieved? I would suppose these poor civillians were massacred in 1999 to put an end to militant activities in the niger-delta region. We would now take a look into the subsequent years that followed to see if these objectives was achieved.

The year 2003 turned out to be the year when full blown militancy in the region was unleashed upon the government, this was comming barely 4 years after the odi scenario, the NDPVF led by Asari Dokubo,Soboma George's Icelanders,Ateke Tom,Boyloaf,Tompolo and other militant leaders later teamed up to form MEND which fought the government to a standstill until the amnesty program was launched and effected under the late Yaradua.

The odi massacre and any future killing of innocent civillians will lead to easier recruitment of more members as aggrieved youths looking for vengeance will easily clim on the back of this militant organisations to achieve their aim!!

So enough of stupid threats about the odi scenario 2 in gbaramatu or any other part of the Niger-delta,it only potrays the nigerian army as cowards who cannot confront the militants but will rather attack innocent civillians!! That will not stop the insurgency!! These militants have made a list of their grievances, the government should look into it

Pa Chukwudi, anything and everything is permissible in warfare.

Ask the Syrians, Iraqis, Afghans and the biafraudsters that you are one of them.

Meaningless thread. Tell them to fish out those criminal avengers and everything will be fine. No criminal can hold us in to ransom anymore.

God bless Buhari and N.A

God bless Nigeria.

I will ask again "Did Niger-delta militancy increase or reduce after the odi massacre?" Your guess is as good as mine!!! This is not even about the ICC!! You are about to see full blown insurgency across the entire region. We better start planning our budget with 100,000bpd

Massacre of innocent civilians in Niger Delta is intolerable.it cannot be tolerated. Nigeria government know the solution to Nigeria problem but chose to ignore it wishing that Nigerian will continue suffer and smile.

Let it increase to the firmament. It is their land and the wahala will be their headache. When the heat is too much, some of them will turn to refugees in other regions. You have witnessed one yourself during the civil war. The stup1d people that were hailing BH during the early days, witnessed theirs and they wish they had nipped the monster in the bud.

Nigeria still has over USD25bn to play with. Expending USD1bn to whip recalcitrant citizens back into line will not be too much. Do the militants have such amount to prosecute their jamboree?

I am not an octagenarian like you, but Nigeria survived with USD3bn and we will with USD27bn.

I repeat, does your militant have 1/5th of that to spare on war?

Foolish thread.

What has the odi massacre got to do with Niger delta militancy? Don't be silly.

Go and read up on what led to the odi invasion.

Those villagers murdered INNOCENT POLICEMEN and refused to release their bodies till date. After the expiration of the deadline given to them by OBJ's government to release the bodies of those men and name those involved in their murder, OBJ sent soldiers to fish them out.

OBJ did the right thing. Till date, the fear of a man in uniform is the beginning of wisdom in that community.

It was also a lesson for other Niger delta villages. You cannot MURDER innocent policemen or soldeirs carrying out their legitimate duties, dispose of their bodies (hence denying them a befitting burial and giving their respective families closure) and expect the government to look the other way.

We all know the truth,

There cant be peace in this country as long as the owners of what sustains it keep being cheated on..... And some set of people feel they are meant to lord over others no matter what...

Imagine what would happen if oil was gotten from the north and 80% of it was owned by southerners, and the region was suffering from this....

To make things worse, its clear to even the blind that presido is a bigot.... So why not allow everyone to go their seperate ways , funny how some people happily support a genocide..smh..

Worse would have happened if GEJ won the 2015 elections, only God knows how many would have been killed in the north ...

There's only one permanent solution to all this and i feel its to divide what the british united out of their selfishness.....
Then we'll see how some people will fare without oil being an asset to them.
