Please what is the difference between the two. I know one is code division multi access and the other is global sumtin sumtin, but all that is the technical jargon.

its seems there is no difference in the two these days as you can make call , send sms,, surf the net, use blackberry etc on both.

so can someone explain in user friendly terms, the difference between the two.

Coverage,data transfer speed,subscriber identity module.etc
is C.D.M.A uses spread spectrum technique i.e code division multiple access that is it uses a certain code to differentiate between various calls whereas G.S.M uses a narrow-band T.D.M.A technology.

funny enough, i would have guessed that gsm would be the cheaper option

becos of the sort of tech involved but its turns out that CDMA is the way forward

in getting cheap calls and other services,
