There's a difference between a thief and a looter. A thief steals 3000 naira, a looter steals 30 billion naira. A thief can't afford a lawyer. A looter shows up with 90 lawyers. A thief is sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, but a looter either gets discharged and acquitted or gets just 6 months imprisonment, which he would spend at a 5 star-hospital nursing a mysterious ailment. A thief is the most despicable human being in the Nigerian society, a looter is a celebrity, a hero. He gets our sympathy. We remember that he has contributed "imensaly", he is our children's role model, we plead with justice to temper itself with mercy when it's time to try him.

In Nigeria, the thief is an animal, but the looter is king!
