Now isn't that just stupîd, Jamb exams are definitely more credible than post utme, the only purpose of post utme is for money making. 3 Likes |

You don't want it scrapped because it offers your people the opportunity to push all your brothers to high institutions without doing well in JME 1 Like |

There's no sense in dis because the schools are actually the ones selling Post-UME scores. I was against Post-UME frm d onset because it was a means for the University Management to enrich themselves.. 1 Like |

Ebubeslym: I wonder why universities and other higher institutions are allowed to repeat same exams meant for same purpose. And they have done this for higher costs for years. POST UTME IS UNFAIR AND MUST BE SCRAPPED ONCE. A WELCOMED DEVELOPMENT IF SCRAPPED. Post utme is for money making by higher institutions conducting the exam. |

Ebubeslym:How is that? ? I feel jamb should be a regulatory body and allow universities determine there Addimision criteria, that's how it is done all over |

Is it not better we do away with jamb. School to conduct their screening exercise . If they like let them admit dullard. That is their own cup of tea. |

Mediocrity rules Nigeria. Reason for it? Here.... WAEC. We formed a shortcut - NECO JAMB. We formed a short cut - post UME ICAN. We formed a short cut ANAN Add yours! Now, this "group" want to abolish the main exam and certify the "short cut" method! Ha! Is this how a nation develop its youths? 1 Like |

I think that scrapping post UTME is a bad idea.....especially as it prevents universities from screening out bad students. (Forget tales of corruption.....JAMB is far more easy to compromise.). Having said that, the real problem is the poor state of primary and secondary education in Nigeria. Fix that....and we could even leave JAMB in place for good. 1 Like |

DanielPop: No....the real problem is that in the 1970's....the government of the day took over all the mission schools, and also built lots of new schools, and over-admitted students. That meant that government could no longer fund primary and secondary education adequately.....so standards slipped, and things went downhill. And NECO benefits lots of Southerners too....by the way.Post UTME was backed by many Southern Universities.....who were tired of admitting flawed JAMB cheats. |

Rexyl: Many of the universities had no choice. Before Post UTME came around in 2005....many university VC's complained loud and long about how the standard of students entering university was falling drastically...and something needed to be done. When the then Government refused to listen to them...that is when they brought in Post UTME. Anyway....the problem really is not JAMB/POST UTME .....but the bad nationwide failing standards in primary and secondary education in Nigeria. Our schools are failing our kids. |

Institutions should be allowed to conduct their entrance examinations. Scrapping post-ume, is like taking many steps backward instead of forward. Post-ume was introduced in the first place because jamb was so corrup-riddled and ineffective. How come we want to go back to the method that had compromised the quality of our education. Gov doesn't want to scrap jamb because it generates income for the gov. not because it's beneficial to our educational system. Institutions should be allowed to conduct their entrance exams and made to pay tax or commission to the gov. |

xender: It's the height of senselessness in display. Since Muslim right group is not an academic institution, it must not dab into issue as crucial as this. From experience, it is believed and known that corruption is more prevalent in swapping of scores in post JAMB than in JAMB itself. Prospective students are being swindled of their money by the schools glaringly. It is also a duplication of exercise since JAMB was solely established for this purpose and it is backed by law. The only point made by this useless religious body here is the idea of too early schedule of JAMB exam at 0630hr. This needs to stop forthwith. 2 Likes |
