I like chiogo a lot, she is a very cool girl. She is actually one of my favorite people on NL. However, I am in love with you FL Gator so no worries . I would not have made this remark if I knew her previously on NL.

, but I thought it was college actually. Thats the truth- valedictorian doesn't mean much except if she attended a magnet school. Her High school is not a magnet science school, neither is it a top private (Philips academy, St pauls, tafts or choate).

Well getting into cambridge doesnt really mean that you are super smart though. I know four close family friends at cambridge- what i noticed what they were very rich though combined with some intelligence. I admit they were way smarter than I was Also they attended public schools- one attended Harrow, the other Winchester, and the two girls cheltenham ladies.

Did your cousin attend public school? If your parents compare you to him point that out to them. Nigerian parents like to do that a lot. My dad keeps on comparing me to his children's friends even though these people are from wealthy backgrounds.

I agree you don't have to be supersmart to get into cambridge however you do have to be very very smart.
Man those family friends of yours are very rich cuz Harrow is a prestigious and expensive college(the only school that has a higher degree of prestige is Eton College)

Also, my cousin did not attend a public school, however he did attend one of the top state owned schools(on par with public schools)

Well, it does say something about quality. Original is always better. C'mon, if Public education started here, you really think we have the worst education compared to those who emulated us? I'm just saying. Grin

I don't know about New England being known for prep schools, I can only speak for Massachusetts, which is just a small part of New England. I believe Public schools are the most common. Private and Charter schools are there but there's no proof either of their high quality other than the students pay 30k a year. Heck, they don't even take standardized testing like the MCAS(Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) while for the rest of us, it's a REQUIREMENT to even graduate high school. Of course, they'll take the SAT's but that's with the help of teachers who are continuously prepping them for the D-day.

I actually came last in secondary school once- just once though. , the good old times, I missed like a whole school session playing gameboy especially pokemon red or was it silver. And I used to get flogged all the time for not doing my homework so I used to just miss school. Now I am better lol, funny how people could change.
