Many jobs are male-dominated

It’s not like women can’t do these jobs, we are just not encouraged to. I
remember the shock on people’s faces when they see a female engineering
student back in University.

There are so many career fields in Naija with few women. These jobs pay the
big bucks but women seem to avoid them.

Here are some lucrative jobs Naija women avoid:

1. President

In all my years as a Nigerian, the last general election was the first time I saw
a female presidential candidate. The presidency is a job I’m sure many women
will excel at. It’s time we tried a female president, the leadership has been
dominated way too much by men.

2. Wrestler/Boxer

Funny how we hardly see female wrestlers or boxers in Naija. Everyone knows Bash Ali, the legendary Nigerian boxer. But what of Bash Simbi or something? Boxers and wrestlers make millions. Ladies, time to port careers.

3. Commercial bus driver
Maybe because the Agberos (area boys) are usually male and can be intimidating that’s why we don’t have many female danfo drivers. Danfo drivers be raking in cash on a daily basis.

4. Construction Worker

Construction workers make tons of money daily. They get paid per day. Payment can range between 3,000-7,000 Naira per day. Sadly, there are not many women in construction. It might be labour intensive but I’m seeing Naira signs over there.

5. Fitness Trainer

Ever notice how all the fitness trainers in most gyms are cute buff guys? Many women are getting fit and buff too. It’s high time we had more female fitness trainers.

6. Barber

We have male hairdressers but we hardly have any female barbers. Barbers make plenty of money. Haircuts aren’t cheap. Ladies, let’s get in formation and get our own barber shops.
