What I'm seeing here is the exact reason a revelotion will never stand. Many will start the course, but 70% will derail from the course later due to stipends. I don't blame pple though; the struggle is real. This guy started this thread to voice out the terrible state of his present situation, many like minds joined him and the clamour for revolution was at one point intensified only to be mitigated by innocent offer of token by some generous few (a move I'm not against, but ask yourself after 5k what next?) . Now this is the exact power the Politicians/Elites have over us.

This thread assuming it has not unfortunately being shifted from his earlier stance, it would have sensitized a lot of people out there. I hope it doesn't die a natural death.

God bless those generous guys though. Come to think of it, some people wey get a means of earning go still follow apply o. God help us all.

since the beginning of this month, I have been thinking about life after NYSC, as per job hunting.

I believe what will be will be.

It's good you are thinking about life after Nysc one thing i have to tell you is, Don't despair..
For many people, jobs are already waiting for them.

You just said the sad truth.. Life after Nysc isn't too easy but i will advice u to start planning and preparing, get your cv done n give people who are experienced to help review your cv and trust me it's never too early to start applying for jobs..

My brother, no be small thing o. As everybody don honest put, make I tell una my own wahala. I graduate for 2008, na so school begin frustrate my life. Two years later, them still dey find 11 missing results. I run from pillar to post, no solution, begin rewrite exam so things go pure, but e no just easy to pass on merit. Na so I vex leave school go begin hustle. I believe say Devil wan just dull my progress. God bless me sotey I detach from my parents. I soon find wife marry, settle for town. Na so people wey no get joy begin put eyes for my matter. You go invest, you no go see the output. Pastors put hand for the issue, use money dey pray for me. E be like say na jazz dey knack me. Years dey pass, money dey drop, I dey there dey hope say e go better because na honest hustle. My paddy tell me say make we enter G. I no gree for that one because my wife expectant. Na so e bad sotee I begin panic. Na then person come with sure drug line idea. I refuse say I no fit. Na so God send one man come solve my school matter with only one phone call at 10pm in the night when we meet for bar. The next day, school call me say make I come drop details for service. How e take happen, I no fit talk. Na so I carry 19k plus every other hustle dey try put family normal until wifey born. So, we don finish service na, thinking say wahala don give chance small. But the thing wey we dey earn now, my brother. E be like say I still dey service. As I dey hope to get better work, na so dem dey sack those wey get better work. You no go believe say I dey conclude plans to go back into the hustle line, as paying job no just dey work out. I just thank God say wife wey understand dey contribute join and pikin wey need attention dey, if not, frustration fit don make me give up as I take leave school. I don tire for e go better, because e fit no better pass like this. Na to make the best of my situation na im sure pass, and maybe save enough money for vasectomy. Lol

Do you know why till this day, a nationwide revolution has not begun? It is simply because Nigeria is not a united country. We are not one, and we have never been one. I don't see it happening, EVER.
Once a section of the country feels they are being shortchanged, all the government needs to do is appoint someone from that region into a certain position, and what happens next is, the people will say, "well, one of us has been appointed. Let's wait and see how things go. Maybe the government has remembered us afterall"
This happens consistently. It all boils down to tribalism along with it's varying interests. Now that we feel that the FG is appointing mostly Northerners, majority of the south complains. Once a prominent position is given to, say, someone from the SS, that region keeps quiet a bit. AS IF SUCH AN APPOINTMENT EVEN MEANS ANYTHING TO THE COMMON MAN IN THAT REGION!

It's not totally an issue of cowardice. No Igbo man will rise up in protest over a Yoruba village that gets ransacked by Fulani herdsmen. No Yoruba politician will lose sleep if Boko Haram suddenly wipes off an entire LGA in Damaturu. No Hausa man will lose his appetite if a sudden epidemic wipes off half the population of a rural community in the Niger Delta.

It's the same reason why, when a politician is being investigated for corruption, his kinsmen will rise up in protest, and call it witch hunting
It's also the reason why, every politician in power is like "I need to loot as much as I can lay my hands on right now". Knowing that it is a temporary position, without much accountability.

Bottom line, no tribe or groups of tribe is ready to lose his life over a country that most of us feel no allegiance or loyalty to. Will you, for instance, accept to lead a ragtag mob that decides to march to Aso Rock tomorrow morning? of course, you'd first ask yourself if you are the most affected from the hardship ravaging the country.
The very first factor that ensures a successful revolution is UNITY. Once everyone is unified in their political conviction and decide on achieving the same goal, then a revolution might just be looming. Go read up the history of countries that had a successful revolution. A united front was the common and overwhelming factor. As it is now, in Nigeria, it is every man for himself.

@topic, considering the lengthy outcome of the thread, it shows majority of Nigerians are interested in it. This is because of its reality...a true situation we pass through everyday. I wish i can begin to narrate my own plight as i pass through everyday just because i was born a Nigerian. The question i always ask myself is, was it a crime i born a Nigerian? Why must i pass through this just cos i was born a Nigerian?
