A resident of Okada in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo named Mr. Kelvin Omoruyi has decided to embark on a solidarity trek from Okada to Benin city from Wednesday 06 July 2016.

Okada is about 42 km distance to Benin city, on the Benin – Lagos expressway.

It takes approximately 7 hours 47 minutes for a physically fit man to trek from Okada to Benin City, without stopping and approximately 2 hours, 29 minutes to ride on a bicycle from Okada to Benin city, without stopping. The driving distance between Okada and Benin City is approximately 40 minutes, without traffic.

Mr. Omoruyi said he was embarking on this historic trek to Benin city to meet with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in order for him to show solidarity with him on his campaign to govern Edo State.

If Mr. Omoruyi starts his journey anytime before noon Wednesday, he is expected to reach Benin city before 8.00pm, baring any unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully he will be trekking for a fruitful and noble cause that will not turn out to become the parody of change embodied in the despot occupying the No.1 office today. However, beyond trekking, it will be more 'blessed' for young people with conviction such as this to reach the grassroots, preach the gospel of 'taking the future' and ensure that their votes count despite the inconclusive, manipulative tendencies of INEC and APC. Enlightened youths and citizens must engage the aspirants and ensure feasible plans and blueprint for implementation are on ground.
