Anyways vernurability is a existential threat , nothing is foolproof, breach will happen, the point is the ability to take damage and bounce back - this is what makes all the difference.

Ur asking about htt 40 I presume , it's still in development phase and they r looking to come up with a armed version but that will take time, about the Turkish one I have no idea.

forget about HTT-40 grin

Honeywell TPE331-10 turboprop engine

China is already able to make a knock-off

TP-1000

that is to say making a OV-10 Bronco ,PC-6 or EMB-312 Tucano class turboprop plane is technically possible for China grin

the question is how much time and units needed.

Nemesis4u, let say for example, there's a huge fire fight BHT trying to overrun a capital city with massive anti personell weapons therefore slowing down ground troops from holding grounds. Airforce fighter jets can't take off for some reasons. Can we call on AFRICOM to strike? Or if there's a French rafale on a regular sortie in Cameroon, can we call them in to strike targets?

Inside a city use of airpower is not advisable

Unless there r no civilians or u have concrete Intel regarding the targets.

Yes if the military has cleared a location for strikes inside it can be undertaken by anybody having the platform with the requisite systems to carry out a strike without the usual pre mission planning.

I believe u were asking about the feasibility of re routing / re tasking a platform already airborne on a different mission.

Yes it's doable provided it is already equipped with LDP and laser guided weapons and has comms compatibility with the ground command of the concerned country.

Actually it ain't that easy , usually there needs to be some sort of interoperability etc so that an external platform has a clear RAP from the home country domestic assets/command in order to carry out its mission.

Nigeria used air assets against BHT during one of their advance into maiduguri. I'm sure the civilian issue was considered.

Thanks for your answer. Just wanted to be sure if a country can call in a foreign airforce to strike targets in her own country without a proper agreement on such before.

Some weapon system spends most of its time for peace time missions and rarely gets to see war.

So a compromise is done.

Importantly MPA is for patrol to hunt submarines primarily and surface targets secondarily , they possess the standoff sensors to keep out of harm's way and even if caught by surprise have the CMDS and flight performance to evade incoming threats.

But doing such extreme evasive flight manuvers will cut short it's airframe life and require extensive overhaul/testing. These r not done during peacetime only those evasive manuvers within the OEM prescribed safe flight limits r done for training.

A MPA simply needs to drop below the radar horizon if it detects a long range high altitude SAM incoming.

If a manpad is incoming then it needs to keep out of its range envolope

Plus switch on its CMDS for the respective threats concurrently.

Aircrafts usually operate within a predefined safe zone calculated on the basis of threats it might face.

There r design tradeoffs endurance for speed , high tonnage for speed etc etc.

turkey just lost a helicopter in afrin, syria

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Kurdish forces have downed a Turkish helicopter in western Afrin on Saturday, the spokesperson for the SDF stated.

The helicopter was shot down over Qoda village in Afrin’s Rajo district, Mustefa Bali of the SDF stated, adding that the incident was captured on video. The video has not been immediately made public.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the helicopter was downed.

Funny thing you'd mention AFRICOM, they seem to be busy with our Francophone neighbours.

Jihadists don't drop from the sky nor do they disappear into the sky.

A good percentage of ISIS members have been recruited by the T/urkish State for offensive action presently undergoing by different parties.

What happens when the fight is over , the battle hardened jihadists will seek new pastures or will be utilised to stroke lingering insurgencies in muslim populations around the world.

This is a old ploy used in south Asia before , battle hardened jihadists from Afghanistan at the end of cold war were diverted to I/ndia for Islamic insurgency in the name of freedom.

So the question is which countries around the world r will now be likely targets.

State sponsored terrorism is a fight which is very very difficult to win , it is basically a war of attrition with no wins unless u crosse the red line and takes out the country supporting it which again is easier said than done
